I don't consider myself to be a "moderate" muslim, just a muslim.  I think it's disgusting how people use religion to further their own agenda, I think religion should be something between a person and god.  Organized religion, and in this case, Shariah Law is a cancer to society, secularism is the way to go.
As for your 2nd question, I'm not sure what source you got it from, but I doubt it's that high.  Last time I checked, 91% of people are in support of secularism in Turkey, despite being 96% muslim.  It really depends on which part of Turkey your looking at.  Western Turkey is quite secular, Central Turkey is a bit more conservative, and in Eastern Turkey is an absolute shithole (still better than the majority of the middle east though).  So even if there is an 8% support (which I dont think it would be that high), it would be almost exclusively in Eastern Turkey.
