A person with a CHL would know the laws surrounding the carrying of a firearm as they are taught them in a classroom setting in order to get their license.

I don't consider myself to be a "moderate" muslim, just a muslim. I think it's disgusting how people use religion to further their own agenda, I think religion should be something between a person and god. Organized religion, and in this case, Shariah Law is a cancer to society, secularism is the way to go.
As for your 2nd question, I'm not sure what source you got it from, but I doubt it's that high. Last time I checked, 91% of people are in support of secularism in Turkey, despite being 96% muslim. It really depends on which part of Turkey your looking at. Western Turkey is quite secular, Central Turkey is a bit more conservative, and in Eastern Turkey is an absolute shithole (still better than the majority of the middle east though). So even if there is an 8% support (which I dont think it would be that high), it would be almost exclusively in Eastern Turkey.

I can't read or understand arabic, so no, I didn't. Im aware of some of the horrible shit the Quran says, but I choose to look at Islam through its core teachings, which is esentailly love and acceptance. Just like how the Bible says some horrible shit, but most people choose to focus on what really matters in Christianity, which is being a good person.
