I agree though. And people are forgetting that Syria is (or was) a highly developed country. These people didn't live in caves and only owned a cow. These are doctors, journalists and teachers fleeing from the war
 
You're really bringing up the Crusades, which happened nearly a millennium ago, in comparison to current events happening today? The whole point is that the world is supposed to be a different place today, so bringing that up is counterintuitive at best. Sorry, I can't be bothered to even read the rest of your post after leading off with that hefty pile of dung.

To the rest of you, sure they are conveniently called Syrian refugees, but a huge number of them also originate in North Africa, Afghanistan, etc. I have seen the stats, but it is 11pm and I'm on my phone, so can't be bothered to find them now. This is a time of opportunity for anyone seeking a better life. I don't blame them, and there is certainly a moral obligation to help those in need. Really, we'll see how this works out a few years down the road, but it's pretty clear that certain regions of Europe are going to have some adjustment to do. Everybody has their dirty laundry.

I agree that learning a second language, in this case english, is almost mandatory for european contries. But nevertheless, the idea of 'I don't need to learn another language, I speak english, and if anyone wanna speak with me, it's gonna be in my own langauge' is kinda faulty since big parts of the world still don't speak english.

And again, my point about my own country, we couldv'e just stopped when we knew english after elementary school, but you're actually taught 1-2 more languages. And I have atleast found it very very useful.

I feel sorry for you, if you can't look beyond the frightening picture of muslims that news channels like Fox News (and some newspapers/stations in my country as well) creates.

If that was so, they would all become illegal immigrants, atleast this way they're registered. It's not like they'd peacefully return to certain death in Syria

It's called redistribution of wealth. Most Americans are against the higher taxes this would engender, so it won't happen anytime soon.

That's not what the gini coefficient is about though...
 
Naturally Denmark will have a different GINi ratio than the US. The US does not have a system the that distributes it's wealth. In addition, over 13%( ~42 million) of the U.S. population are immigrants. No telling how many are first generation immigrants. When Denmark, and other European countries, can make the same claim, as well as the same claim of ethnic diversity as the U.S and other North American countries, perhaps then we can talk about the GINI ratio on even grounds.

i just checked with most american's and it turns out they don't mind as long as it doesn't apply to them.

Taxation is one of things we fought the Revolutionary War over. It won us our Freedom from the oppressive rule of one of the countries in Europe.
