Hey guys!

Gw2 just went f2p today and i'd like to welcome any player that decided that they want to play it.

Hi as a former Guild Wars 1 Elitist and also represent of guild which was top 200 eu.

I refuse to play this game as it has nothing to do with my former addiction.

Sorry Wind Hoes, but we will NOT see each other.
 
Also who the fuck plays asura, maarten you are my OG bro but asura really?

Tell me when they add ritualist to the game so i can play my main actually and not be forced to be guardian or some shit.

Im not mean , im just having a banter with Sick because he was trying to persuade me to try the game for several months.

After playing beta few years back i came to a conclusion its not the game i used to play (compared to gw1 that is)

While its still a great game, and i recommend it,and it has loads of hours of fun,especially if its f2p now you should try it.

I just cant get myself over the nostalgia and like the game :)
Ill just rather log on back to GW1 and que random arenas. Simply cant get myself to like the game as a gw1 elitist/veteran.

But you folks definately should go ahead and try it :)


//edit: also butthurt over the fact that they transferred several classes from gw1>gw2 , yet my main and alt classess are not even there :D

After a VERY quick search on "the interwebz" you can find out that GW2 is NOT in fact F2P but still B2P. Their model is that you must purchase the CURRENT content in order to play it, but pay no monthly fees. This means that the launch title GW2 is now F2P but the new xpac coming out shortly GW2: Heart of Thorns will be B2P until their about to drop another xpac (which will be B2P) and so forth. What this does in effect is allow people who've never played a chance to get into the game (and get addicted) then when the new xpac drops they'll feel compelled to purchase it to keep playing with friends. It's not an unreasonable game model and certainly superior to the greed that is Blizzard (charging for every damn thing) but it'd disingenuous to say it's just F2P.

Basically what DeLindsay said. Gw2 will still be B2P, though only the most current expansion of it will be B2P (and the previous expansions/content will be F2P).

As for the restrictions, they're listed here.

Holy crap there's a LOT more restrictions than I even read about.
 
It has some restrictions but from what i know you can reach max level and use AH and do everything but use the gem store. Also in pvp in this game everyone gets equal gear so when a lvl 1 fights a fully equipped lvl 80 with pve gear then in pvp they can be just as effective :)

They just released a new class so yours might come in the future but from what i know the ritualist is alot like the necromancer or the mesmer ^^
 
The level cap is the original gw2 lvl cap of 80. Which is easy to get.

I'm also a GW2 Player, and Asura masterrace. US Jade Quarry.

The game is pretty worthy checking out now that it is f2p, and truth be told, it's f2p model is pretty forgiving.

Also for the pvp crowd, you can pvp from lvl 2 ( after the tutorial zone ).

I recommend checking it out.
 
So Im lvl 22 human mesmer and while I have no idea what Im doing, I really like it :-D So far it seems way more fun than WoW. Thanks, OP :)
