Who's still purge?

Forth one in a week. Pretty sad actually. Sad indeed.
These threads make up the meat and potatoes of the level 20 twinking section. Besides the stickies, how many threads offer any actually useful in game TWINKing INFOrmation one the first page? One or two maybe...
Let's see, we have a thread dedicated to whining and crying(the second one in fact), one dedicated to music, three about this very subject, an @ thread, two SS threads, one asking for pictures of yourself, and the list goes on and on. Most of this crap has NOTHING to do with level 20 twinking and therefore does not belong in this section. It belongs in the tavern. SS and knowing what people look like or what music they are listening to does not make my level 20 a better twink. Where are the jump videos? Where are the enchant exploits that TI used to be known for?

It has degraded to shaved metrosexuals sharing pictures of themselves and who knows what else they have been sharing.

/cheers

Just to share my perspective, I think that in the three major forums (10-19, here, and 20-29) there has built such a community around those brackets that inevitably a large portion of the posts are going to be non-informational. You all know that historically I am a very large supporter of the idea of community-building, so threads that appear to me to be building--or in some cases, healing--the community, I will generally allow.

This thread in my opinion is one of those threads. Because of all the major drama in the last couple of days, I feel like a lot of people had tension and anxiety built up regarding the contentious forces that divide the community. This thread pokes fun at those tensions, and is serving as an emotional release and a chance to bond again, to remind ourselves that by and large, we are one relatively happy community and that our friendships can endure and diminish the problems that inevitably arise from having so many different personalities all mashed together in one place.

So yeah, I'm sympathetic to the needs being expressed here, and I'll allow it.

Yes, my F2P is still a starter, nothing more. If I want to play other than that, I just resub or go on my main account and use it as a vet. But personally, I enjoy the F2P experience and community.

I do not really have an issue with others who choose to play differently, but I personally have no interest in it myself. :)

How does linking make you impure? I mean who really cares. Achievements are for console peasants, and that contest was over at the end of cata anyway. Are you talking about gear? People have been playing with f2p restrictions on their main accounts since time out of mind. Many of the founders of the f2p community, in fact played on paid accounts to make premades and arenas possible.

Linking accounts doesn't affect the gear you equip. It gives you the option of equipping guild looms, but you don't have to equip them. Linking is not the determining factor, so get off it already. I mean I understand f2p pride, but the recent arguments I've seen, as to what defines a f2p, are full of so much fallacy that it boggles the mind.

I want to play this, my home bracket again, but I don't know if I want to right now. I don't know what disgusts me more, the scumlord 29s or the toxic attitudes I've been hearing from f2ps lately; this crap is just divisive. Makes the 19s bracket seem warm and fuzzy.

The forums are more corrupted with it. I mean there might be a lot of people in game that share the same views, but it isn't mentioned as often, and I say playing nice and quiet is the way to go.
