What happened?
Before the introduction of the new battlegrounds Alterac Valley and Eye of the Storm in WoD's 6.0, the German (and French) bracket was as playable as the English/Spanish one. However, after 6.0 with more potential capacity for players, the queue system was not adjusted for the two comparably smaller brackets drafting people from a smaller pool of players. This lead to terribly long queue times and the eventual whipe of the brackets.
During the past months, many moved to English communities leaving the German (and French) bracket and their old twinks behind.

And now?
5 months into WoD me and some other formerly active members of the German bracket have decided to swipe the dust off of our old twinks and are trying to revive the bracket. Therefore I'm calling anyone here to action who is interested in the same thing as we are.

What's the plan?
Right now we are queueing at scheduled days and hours for specific bgs. So far things are going pretty good for the start - bgs start popping again and the teamplay is good.
In the long run the plan is to get to a stage where there is no need to schedule things anymore. We know the dream of bgs popping 24/7 again is utopian, but getting to a routine of queueing (especially in the evening) should be the goal for everyone participating.
Being in a grp is not necessary, because there wont be anyone else in queue (for now!).
If you would like to join with one of your twinks from an english realm, we can provide p2p support for grouping in this case.

What, how, when and where?
While I will be updating this thread here, others keep pushing the issue over on the official forums post.

Again anyone willing to jump on old twinks as well as even creating new ones is welcome to the matter.
As of now we will be queueing as Horde players only, since we experienced a lack in participation on alliance.
Any Alliance-only players are kindly asked to roll a horde twink for now, since it can only help the greater good. The same applies to Horde-only player, for we might change plans in the future.
Suggested realms are:
Horde: Destromath, Kult der Verdammten
(Alliance: Aegwynn, Destromath)
While any realm is possible, for the sake of keeping everyone together rolling on a suggested realm would be helpful - excluding old twinks of course!

So far we run on a 2 day schedule: Wednesday and Sunday queueing for Warsong Gulch at 7.30pm CET. However, for anyone being available earlier we decided to let people have the freedom to start queueing at 6pm CET for there might be enough players for WsG or even AB and EotS. Yet 7.30pm stays the official time!

Was ist passiert?

One cannot "steal" players.
Most of us germans/austrians just play on english servers since WoD hit because there were no pops anymore on german servers.
Now it seems that the situation improves on german servers and and many are happy to be able to play their german toons again.

So on scheduled evenings we play on german servers, the rest of the time we'll still be on Aggramar/TN/...

Greetings.

I've one question. Why are spanish, french and italian servers merged with the english servers but not german?

Since when are French servers merged with rest of en/esp?
Merged as in they get into your team without invite.

I really dont know, especially because they are merged for arenas. I did suggest this several times to blizzard, but nothing ever happened - as expected.

Are you sure thats true?
Never heard of that before... I doubt it.

Is it still possible for US players to realmlist onto EU?
Or did they make it so we are required to buy an EU version of the game?

You should always be able to create an EU trial account, you just have to download the EU client afterwards.
There never was and I doubt there ever will be the need to buy anything to play trial/f2p on EU for US players and vice versa.

Oh duh!
I did not think about that, thank you!

When I install the German client will it let me play the US servers also?
Like, how do I switch back and forth?

This is just a language Setting. You can swap between German, French, Spanish and so on, in game (this dont change anything about servers).
Then about playing on German servers is exactly like you can make chars on Mexican/Brazil servers without downloading anything, just the same we can make chars on German/French/Spanish servers.
(Only russian servers needs a diffrent account)

This should get you an EU Starter on your US battle.net:
1. Go into WoW folder World of Warcraft/WTF/ then open Config with notepad.
2. Change the following rows:
SET portal "GB"
SET textLocale "enGB"
SET audioLocale "enGB"
SET agentUID "wow_engb"
SET installLocale "enGB"
3. Start the game from the WoW folder WoW.exe
4. Try login using your US account.
5. It will automaticly make you an EU account.
6. GG
