How I Plan To Use Veteran F2P Account Status

I just don't see a one time cost of 5 dollars being an unfair advantage...
It's not just going to be $5, at least not if you want the best gear possible.

Since we're making assumptions, be warned this is all assumption junction ahead :O

But, in theory, this means needing gold for both heirlooms as well as bis enchants. Some players, specially the genuine trials will have difficulty with gold, a lot of WoW players do.

It doesn't end there, where do we draw the line? We're possibly talking about faction changes for gear (Ring of Pardons would be bis for probably any newer alliance caster, just one example) and maybe even buying grandfathered gear (like Woodworking Gloves, Defias Belt or Boots, Walking Boots, etc). After-all, people want the best.

Suddenly, it's not that easy, it's more work and more money.

I, as well as a few others plan on going vet and making two sets. One for f2p and the other p2p for derping in pugs.

Seems to be the best solution.

Mypersonal view, if you want it, is that we need to abandon "P2P" and "F2P" labels altogether, and just call a person's current account status Trial, Veteran, and Subscribing. Remember that "F2P" and "P2P" are just cultural jargon from our little corner of the game, and while they used to work in the former binary status system, there are more than two possible states now, and a binary nomenclature does not work.

And those who keep trying to force the outdated binary system on a new reality that is at least tertiary, as I said before, are holding back progress of the community and the culture. In my opinion.
Can we retain the binary split as a distinction between F2P and P2W?

Just trolling.

HELLO ALL!

I've catogerized the diffrent types of level 20 twinks for you all!
No one gives a shit what your account is classed as, what gear you use is all that matters!
What are you going to play? :)

Pure f2p - A trial account without any p2p accounts connected
Halfblood f2p - A trial account with a connected p2p account (inactive or active w/e)
Clean p2f2p - A Veteran or p2p character restricted to the above limits (with or without subscription dosn't rly matter)

Double Agent p2f2p - A Veteran or p2p character with f2p restrictions + best of both sides items (paid faction change)

QuaterBlood f2p - A trial account with a connected p2p account with guild/new BoA's (Head, Neck, Cloak, Legs)
Dirty p2f2p - A Veteran or p2p character with f2p restrictions + the guild/new BoA's.

Dirty Double Agent p2f2p - A Veteran or p2p character with f2p restrictions + the guild/new BoA's. + best of both sides items (paid faction change)

p2p 20 - A Veteran or p2p character with all BoAs, highlvl enchants and proffession (100+) crafted items.

Double Agent p2p 20 - A Veteran or p2p character with all BoAs, highlvl enchants and proffession (100+) crafted items + best of both sides items (paid faction change)

Feel free to copy this and make a poll if you cba, I didn't ^^

I wonder if veteran accounts will be able to exp lock.

Once your subs time ends, your locked characters will have their experience unlocked and will be forced to level up to 20(max) as a f2p is meant to.

so did you magically get a vetran account before 6.1 or what? what you are saying as always makes no sense. the way it might work is your xp is unlocked if you enter a bg but thats speculation nothing more.

Ahh okay. Then I would have to exp lock at 20 during my sub for me to be able to play it right?

Yeah, when your sub is active, you have to lock at 20, and when it ends, you will still be 20. (Not being able to reach 21)

Hello kid.
No i didn't, i am a normal person like any other, not a strangeish magician. (doubt they exist)

Alright, so you think i talk about nonsense, how about you take a look at the other pages of this damn thread.

Wait a sec, nevermind, don't do that. I don't even care what do you do and do not, but be sure to check this before saying "what you are saying as always makes no sense."

Why can't I stop leveling at 19 on free accou - Forums - World of Warcraft

This states pretty clearly what starter accounts are intended to be and NOT be. When you consider the further intention to make 'veteran' accounts have all of the same restrictions (save joining old guilds), there should be some sort of epiphany once you realize your questions have already been answered. Intentions trump, well just about anything since Blilzzard sets the rules and knows the tech involved better than you do.

Thanks for telling me that nothing i say makes sense. Really appreciated.

It still makes no sense since starter accounts aren´t the same as veteran accounts
It all depends on how the code or whatever is written. And no, a 4 year old blue post about starter accounts isnt any evidence that it will be like this with veteran accounts. It might be, but we just dont know.

Blizzard totally explained, it will be the exact same as starter edition with the exception of guilds. So yeah, it simply makes lots of sense.

So you know that there is a code for veterans that will turn your xp back on? You know that such a code wasnt only added at that time to force xp back on for those that had locked it as starter? Like a one-time thing that only needed to be added once to cancel former actions since they wouldn´t be able to lock it again in the future because the "xp lock" feature wouldnt be accessable for starters?
You just can´t know and therefore you shouldn´t speak of it like it was totally clear what will happen next week.

Jva, i have no idea of the code you are talking about, and nor have anything against you. You do not need a code to activate your Veteran account i am told. It happens when your sub ends , you enter in the so called "veteran" state.

Edit : I am telling you all what blizzard has said. So yeah. But for it to be ultra clear, i guess we have to wait for the patch to come as you said. =)

Best wishes!

lol. Its ok my friend, we will see next week :D

So, whats the whole purpose of this veteran edition? Paying to still be in disadvantage, still being pissed in the head by 29s bullys? Then, no thx, i pass. Only if I could lock XP at lvl 19 and play at the same level with no disadvantage whatsoever, as everyone in the bracket, it would be worth to pay for it.

Hello! Short question here, guys. I plan to go veteran.... What happen if i lock my char to 20, and level professions to max. I will be able to use char after I get veteran?
