Now that thread was the most entertaining thread since..

That which has been is that which will be, And that which has been done is that which will be done. So there is nothing new under the sun.

There isn't much point in talking about anything you don't agree with because you're not allowed to disagree. Like I said in the original thread about the new "reformed" TI, full of yes men with no brain of there own. Back seat moderators with no power anywhere else in their lives.

please report this as ot, and the mod that deals with perma ban me. I have no wish nor need to be part emoinfo any longer

All due respect, Saint, the end of your post sounds like the most emo thing I've read today. :D I talked with Kilda a long time on Skype tonight as he deliberated about what to do. In the end, I proposed looking at the situation from a different point of view: that interpersonal squabbles are perhaps good for the community, as a way of self-policing and self-correcting by calling out the people who get out of hand. I think that for myself, I'm starting to realize that we need to have people who question each other and question the status quo and who can hold their own in a verbal exchange. You do a good job of calling out others when they're out of line (including me) and sometimes others have to call you out too. I'm currently thinking along the lines that maybe all the rule of the sandbox bickering is good for the community.

But on the other hand, Kilda did spend a lot of time earlier in the evening cleaning up that thread, and the same people who he told to knock it off were the ones who came back and did it again. I think that's just a matter of respect for the effort that he puts forth for us. Every thread, every situation is different, so I don't think it's right to generalize that mods always do this or always do that. From talking with them I get the sense that it's a thankless job that gets them a lot of undeserved hatred and grief, yet we all call upon them when it suits our own needs to do so. I don't think it's any surprise the thread got locked even though the conversation had its good points.

I'd actually considered PMing you earlier to talk about my current thoughts regarding a certain amount of verbal sparring being healthy, but it doesn't sound like you're in the mood for that right now. Maybe tomorrow will be better bud.

I'm posting this link, again, not out of self-promotion but because I think it's relevant here. Saint and I had it out pretty good. I was over the line, and he called me on it. I got mad at him; then myself.

You can learn things about yourself from people you disagree with. "Don't surround yourself with yourself." If all you do is seek out people who agree with, you'll never learn anything. It pays to at least listen to opinions that you don't like. If you're a liberal, watch some Fox News. Conservative? Check out NPR every now and again.

Challenge your deepest held beliefs and you might grow as a person. I think I have (not that I won't make the same mistakes all over again).

My apology/love letter to the TI community: http://www.twinkinfo.com/forums/f29/now-its-out-open-61743/index6.html#post833825

I did not mean to stir up the most recent thread, just bring back fun memories of other entertaining ones.
I believe there was at least one last week. I am not going to bring that subject up. But it was quite the dramafest as well. Who needs a Soap Opera when you have TI to read!!! High School drama at it's best!
For instance, a thread created WAAY back in June of 2013 bemoaning the "End of F2Ps" that went on for two weeks before it ran it's coarse. Fast forward nearly a year and a half later. Are F2Ps dead? I think not, still sassy and whiney as ever. Queues are popping 24/7 and just over the horizon the sky is clear. Two new battlegrounds, skirmishes, new foes to defeat, etc...

Twinkinfo the only place where MVP means MOD.

Fact.

TI is pretty lenient as far as moderation in my experience... I only saw the end result of that thread after it had been locked, so I'm not sure how much Kilda purged from it, but from what I have seen, there are certainly "elements" that were/are asking to be removed entirely.

I almost had a tear in my eyes reading all this :))

I have no wish nor need to be part emoinfo any longer

Gl and have fun. --> there's the door, don't forget to close it when you leave, it's chilly outside ;)

Saint, you are never happy! If you are free to troll all over the site, it's because of the lenient/under moderation. If your posts get deleted it's because of over moderation. You know you're always sailing close to the wind, so why does it always come as a surprise when your bait posts get deleted?

Sorry to say that we are no longer banning people at their request. Maybe if you don't want to be here, you should just stop logging in. I could sure do with a break from reading your multi quote twaddle tbh o/

edit: OT: Not really sure what the topic is here really, but i'll keep it open for general discussion, it would be nice to see how you guys can handle a debate by yourselves

This is probably going to be a big shock to you Juno, but, there are people around here who care about the quality of the community without having yellow names. The logic behind your statement plays out as ONLY the mods should care or should try to communicate with others about how we as a group should act. If you view the world as full of selfish cutthroats with only their own interests in mind except for a handful of people with authority who should be feared, then you're gonna have a bad time.

Please stop attempting to troll me for caring. There are lots of people who care that I care. There are likely just as many people who wish that you would start caring.

You don't get it Kinkaide.. or you don't want to get it (hope the second one is correct).

They are not here to improve the quality of these forums. They are here to vent there RL frustration since they only care to start fights arguing with ppl, calling names, trolling... etc.

Call me whatever you want but this is not improving the community this is degrading it.

Look around, almost every topic is filled with the same people like TheSaint, Junoo and some others. What they post about? Read my above writing.

Check the F2P section for example. There are only a handful of topics that are not touched by them and their degradation.

Now, you can call me subjective cuz it's a known fact i can't stand them but, tell me what did they bring constructive over time?

They have shitloads of posts and 90% of them are bullcrap trolling and you can't argue me on this one.

Now, about them or some of them leaving TI, that won't happen, they can't live without TI, the only place that makes them feel kinda important, the place where they can throw all the trash they gather RL.

I'd suggest a psycologist for them.

i wouldnt flatter yourself bud, i havent got time to troll you.

Again with "disagreeing" with a persons means you are trolling, getting a little tired of hearing the same thing constantly.

Why would I argue with you? You have your own perspective and it's as valid as mine.

But mine happens to be that Saint and Juno are not cut from the same cloth. I was just PMing someone this same statement, but I think that Saint's posts have the function of calling out people who need to be called out... maybe sometimes that's directed at you, I know sometimes it's directed at me, but I can accept that I've said a few things over the years that came across all mis-intended. I don't see Saint as someone who jumps on other people's weakness, I see him as someone who calls BS when he sees BS. I think he might see BS where I don't see a problem, but, he is as entitled to his perspective as any of us. My point was that we don't want the mods limiting that perspective by us constantly asking them to censor people we just don't agree with.

When I was talking about the community self-regulating, I was also talking about you. You do a good job of calling people on BS as well. I'm sure that you don't want to have your ability to do that censored either, so to have that latitude, you have to afford that latitude to some others.

I'm not saying that the mods should let us all run amok. There ARE clearly some people whose purpose is just to spew hate. inoob got dealt with appropriately in that regard, and if Juno doesn't cool it with his polluting every thread with F2P hate, he might end up being next. But only because he can't control himself... NOT just because he has a different point of view. We can't silence people just for having a different point of view, that would be wrong. Only when a person is polluting the boards or making people miserable, and not making any positive contribution to counteract, do I now think we should be calling on the mods to step in.

Is this a different perspective from the one I said a few weeks ago? Yes, it is. I've been paying a lot of attention to -what- exactly Saint talks about and against, and I've also thought a lot about what srsbsns said in the post he linked above. I've come to the conclusion that trying to whitewash the forums is A) not ever going to succeed, and B) more importantly, isn't what the community wants. My view is that the community wants to be able to take care of itself and handle its own problems. I think the rule of the sandbox will tell us when a person is acting out of line with what we will tolerate anymore, and then we can call in the big guns to take someone out.

This is just a thought.
