...makes me not want to live on this planet anymore. in fact it makes me want to kill pretty much anyone in a position of power. from the texas/republican climate change deniers, to the mother fucks who are fucking over the US in the wake of the bp oil spill, and everything in between.

in summary: earth sucks. humans suck. wish planet express could take me away rite meow

Yup.
VICE is pretty good at doing that.

and the sad part is they dont have a bigger voice. the 24 hour news cycle assholes (on both sides of the aisle) arent interested in actual news. they dont want to invest in investigating storys...for them its all a race to putting "news" out first, regardless of if its actually a) true or b) useful. and then they all want to put up stupid shit like viewer tweets and polls, as if thats fucking news. and repeat that every 20, or less, minutes. because thats the point of a 24 news cycle...endless recycling. and online its even worse, every god damn story is just click bait, it doesnt matter if its news or not, or if its true or not. fuck fuckity fuck fuck. ahhh! america just fucking pisses me off, and by extension so does all of the world. watching the fukishema cover up VICE right now. id rather alone in space then live here right now

Good topics and great journalists working for VICE.
I know what you mean; I come away from some of those segments just baffled and angry.
But I think what they're aiming to do is both educate people of topics they'd never hear/see on mainstream news and motivate them to do something about it.
Just don't let apathy rule over your day to day life. Do what you can while you can. Life is short.

1. Unsubscribe from cable tv, the main news cycle etc. Find a good newspaper to subscribe to or a group of news sources that are decent. Stay informed and vote.
2. Tell others anytime you find them open but unknowing (takes time to get comfortable doing this).
3. ???
4. Maybe the human race won't be visibly declining by the ends of our lives. =/

But yeah, there's a number of things I've seen like this. Most of them simply make me depressed. Prolly why I play WoW so much.

If it's any consolation, the planet will be just fine. It will live on for millions, if not billions of years after we are gone. We don't matter in the grand scheme of things, and our time will come; at this rate sooner rather than later.

what's the point of this thread? and heeyyy.. what's wrong with Texans!?

the ones that deny climate change and think u can sucessfully pray for rain is all. oh and the big oil companies taking all the regular folks water to frack while poisoning the environment for all. sure its not everyone there, but it sure is a lot

the planet will be fine. in the sense of the inorganic material making it up. but there may not be any life left, let alone humans. between weaponized viruses and other chemical/biological weapons stored across the planet, to nuclear weapons and nuclear waste all life is in danger. then theres the tained water sources and garbage and every other mundane thing that can ruin humans run and all other life

Even if you look away from the fact that the odds of humanity destroying all life on earth is probably non-existent, thanks to all the different forms of life and their adaptability, as long as there is non-living matter, there is always the chance of abiogenesis. As much as I agree with your assessment of humanity; we fucking suck, you'd have to be either stupid or ignorant to believe that we alone can cause life on earth to seize to exist.

the planet has come so close to being void of all life in the past, just check out all the cosmos eps. could something adapt? possibly...but between the nuclear waste/weapons and everything else were doing + natural climate change, i dont think its ridiculous to think all life, and not just humans, are in jeopardy. weather or not new life could come from certain atmospheres/climate conditions after all life we knew is gone, that would probably happen over millions of years, just in time for the sun to consume the new sentient life
