This is great news. They were talking about achieving this goal (along with the "Aerial Dogfights" as promised on the WOTLK box - Go check there's even a picture of that as a key feature) since they released BOAs in WOTLK.
My only question is how this would work with enchantments and transmogs. I would hope that boas will not exactly retreat to an account wide interface as that would most definitely wipe all transmogs and enchantments.
The best way to achieve this would be to make BOAs "unlock" from a vendor on all realms once purchased initially.
Then there would probably need to be a way of preventing characters from littering their bags with nothing but boas for whatever the reason. It would not make sense if boas could be created with no currency deposit. The easy way to make that not occur would be to make boas unique which would be incredibly horrible but blizzard has made worse moves in the past.
Just my 2c on the situation and I'm excited for more information as to how this feature will be introduced to accommodate for the various range of boa users, from twinks to levelers and everything in between.
As of the release date for WoD it's expected to be anywhere from June - August as that would be the most financially advantageous moment as this expansion is carrying one very important goal: get back as many subs as possible. With that in mind a longer beta would make more sense as Blizzard would be at a loss of subscriptions if the game had negative reviews out of the gate. Where as if there are very few bugs, it will gain a very positive response by the means of mass psychology.
(around 6 months of beta testing, releasing at the start of the summer so student subscriptions could resume)
