Lava Dredger for Horde....but Riot Stick wins by miles for Ally.

Riot Stick bring 9 more dps to the table compared the the dredger when all scaled up in a bg

edit: while im not sure the exact equivalent in agility, it should be clear to anyone that the 9 dps more than outweighs the 8agility a scaled dredger has.

Like franciska said, use whatever youd like, its your character.

oh, and I think a better way of saying the boots thing would be gloves > boots, for a horde warrior

Yup. I like being BiS for certain roles. Want to go Feral as ally? Pick Riot Stick.

Which is like 30-40 agility, i think?

On a sidenote: Before this discussion escalates into flamefests, you are free to equip whatever you think is best and how you enjoy it. The fact is that Riot Stick is still BiS for Feral.

Dug up my post from when I broke down Riot Stick/Eyepatch

http://www.twinkinfo.com/forums/f43/questions-answers-43279/index249.html#post671961

Feral melee damage is based on weapon DPS and normalized to 1 second attack speed. 14 AP adds 1 weapon DPS. Mangle and Shred are based on your base melee damage, Rip/FB/Rake are based on AP.

The base dps on your stat sheet is (Weapon DPS + AP/14)*2.

Riot stick does 6.03 more DPS than the BoA mace in BGs, at the cost of 16 agility, which works out to 3.744*2 = 7.5 damage.

Mangle and shred are based on 500% damage, so before resilience you gain ~38 damage on mangle and ~45 on shred (assuming bleeds are up).

Each point of AP is worth a bit under 1 damage on a 5 point FB (30 less damage). Each tick of Rake gets 30% AP (~9 less damage per tick).

Basically you do a solid amount more sustained damage with shred/mangle/white hits and are a bit less reliant on FB.

I'll edit in a SS of a Riot Stick feral geared similarly to the one Shado posted when I get in a game. Just waited out a 10 min queue for a "Transfer Aborted: Instance not found" -_-.

kk here it is! slightly less geared, missing some damage from enchants etc but similar overall offensive stats outside of weapon/helm.

My dps with 16 less agil than shado and riot stick was 104.91

So its about 5 more dps (just comparing agil) but youre missing out on hit, haste, res etc

Looms + Ello's and you will be grossly overcapped. Riot Stick is more gains than losses overall. Boohoo a few haste lost with no dredger, so what.

Don't forget strength, the most useless stat in the world for warriors

Everything is based on weapon damage anyway for Wars and Strength scales real poorly. Better to stack crit for arms. Funny how little you know about Warriors while you main one.

Regarding ally feral druids and comparing riot stick and skillpatch, here's several facts to note:
Only Mangle, Shred, and auto-attacks scale with DPS.
Ferocious Bite, Rip, and Rake only scale with AP (attack power), and thus are not scaled by DPS.

So, with regards to comparing riot stick and skillpatch for ally feral druids, riot stick over skillpatch is a trade-off between a boost in damage (and crit chance) to a feral's Mangle, Shred, and Auto-attacks, at the cost of some dmg from Ferocious Bite, Rip, and Rake (hit cap? Ellos Band and hit trinket=spell hit-capped easily, and that's not considering other possible sources of hit through BoA hit looms, or even Hoggers pants).

I may come back to this post with some theorycraft numbers to compare the two, once I find time to get back to WoW to access actual numbers.

Strength scales better than crit for every warrior ability other than shield slam, even including enrage procs

Balancing the two stats is best

The math is here http://www.twinkinfo.com/forums/f95/rate-my-arms-warrior-yjungr-51573/index5.html

Do you still think charge doesn't need spell cap as well?
