Predicting 5.4 BiS professions

Crystalpall

the F2P PvEr
  • With the hit of 5.4 the position of BiS alchemy might change with this:
    • Herbalism: [Lifeblood] Uses your skill in Herbalism to absorb energy and nutrients from the earth, instantly healing minor wounds and granting 15. (400) haste for 20 sec. Can be used while stealthed or invisible. Rank 2. Instant. 2 min cooldown.
    • Mining: [Toughness] All your hard work spent mining has made you exceptionally tough, increasing your Stamina by 3. Rank 1. (80). Rank 1.
    • Skinning: [Master of Anatomy] Skinning all those dead animals has broadened your anatomical knowledge, increasing your critical strike by 3. Rank 1. (80). Rank 1.

If these changes go live (which is highly unprobable) what do you think will be BiS professions?
I predict for FCs that would be Mining / Alchemy, because even if we can find swiftthistle only in chests, the 50% speed pots are still worth it.
      What is your opinion?

Taken the list from ugarak's thread. New values are in '( ) '

So this is saying that lifeblood would give 400 haste instead of 15, mining would give 80 stam instead of 3, and skinning would give 80 crit instead of 3?

    well...pick 2/3: 800 hp as a non tank, 400 haste, or 80 crit?

IMO (assuming this goes live) stealthies should be using the haste and crit while everyone else uses stam/crit. Also remember hpal's can nullify a 200% crit chance if they wanted. The haste is on a 2 min CD, but should make WSG's much shorter when it comes to turtling matches.

Haste effects dot's and hot's. I fear assassination rogue and feral druid glass cannons. Screw evis and fero bite, envenom and rake/rip are gonna be the death strokes.

wait whats going to happend lol?

Same thing I have been thinking for a couple of these posts, it looks like its either the exact same... or MASSIVELY overpowered.

Either way I would have faith that not much will change, maybe the affects are going to be slightly scaled like everything else.

Dont get the idea of touching something that not even broken.
Guess will be funny to see a bommi with 400 haste at lvl 20.

Warriors get double the effect from haste so I expect to see warriors choose Herb/Crit too.

No concrete numbers are out yet. Wait until the week of launch until you run around changing your professions. We know what the change is going to be, but I'm nearly certain Blizzard will tweak the numbers a few times.

This isn't to say that it won't be massively overpowered, but lets at least wait before deciding which professions come out on top.

I don't know why you guys are worrying. From the way patch notes are usually punctuated it sounds like the buffs from gathering professions now scale with level, i.e. a level 90 with only 75 herb would have 400 haste. Level 20's will proabably see and increase from the current 15 but not to 400. No company can be that stupid.

I dont have a 90 but looking at the numbers they put up it seems like 400 haste at that level is on the low side

Edit: Reread your post, im an idiot /ignore me

if this really does happen , ive had lots of fun with you guys and bgs will be unplayable , basically if this gets screwed up all us f2ps on wow should just go play Rift

Guys, quit being retarded. PTR is PTR is PTR is PTR.

Just because someone datamined or battletested something months before the patch is coming out and found it overpowered does not make it so.

Stop QQing and wait for the patch.

Why does no1 realize this is just the PTR..? All these 24s probably already rerolled a rogue rdy for those 90 agi mongoose procs lol.. Right now it looks like blizz is worrying about endgame (of course) then wotlk then bc then is lumping EVERY lv from 1-60 as not getting scaled right. I highly doubt these enchants will stay that high once the patch comes out and I know for a fact we aren't gonna get 400 haste or 800 hp/crit...

Too many people are getting opinions on 5.4 before the PTR is even a week old
