Revamped Honor System Suggestion

If someone were to post this on the official WoW forums I would be grateful. I'd also appreciate it if someone with a higher education corrected it to remove the grammar errors and take it out of second person while still sounding fluid.

Our current honor system completely ignores objective play when calculating honor rewards. I think it would do well if certain things were implemented in each BG individually, instead of blanketing something random over the entire portion of the game known as PvP, which blizzard has been known to do. (i.e. resilience, battle fatigue)

The idea I thought of was geared towards WSG, since that is what the vast majority of f2p's play most of the time. If for every 2 minutes you were alive, you became worth +1 honor. For every killing blow you hit, you're worth +1 honor. Every 10k dmg or healing done (this would need to scale), worth +1 honor. The list goes on. Whenever you died, your worth would be reset back to 0. If no one gets honor from GY farming then it will be less likely to occur. Also, awarding 5 honor for 1st flag cap, 10 for 2nd, and 15 for 3rd would be a possibility as well, encouraging 3 capping quickly for maximum honor.

I imagine you think this would mean players could amass massive amounts of honor. They would, compared to what we receive now, but it would be easily comparable to what players got almost every game in Cataclysm.

The idea got some potential and sounds like fun for a whole new idea for a battleground though. This bounty thing ive read before i think, wel some other version then your idea, on the eu suggestion forums. Seems like a lot people felt something for this, perhaps some sort of skirmish free for all bounty system battleground :)
 
the honor system works fine and you already get awarded for capping more flags. If people want to improve there game play they can, not be forced into because they can gain more honor.
 
I'm not sure I have a problem with the honor system. It would be cool if the achievement system didn't encourage honor farming tho, by maybe including some title acheeves for objective play like flag returns and caps (although I might be more than a little biased in that respect).

Of course none of this matters because even if you were to get this posted or hell, whisper it in the ear of a Blizz dev directly, I doubt anything would change.
 
Gy farmers don't care about honor.. They are only their cause it makes them feel good so honor or not they are still going to gy farm. As far as the +1 honor for kbs or dmg/healing taht would be incredibly unbalanced since I have seen healers top 100k healing alot since MoP but have yet to see a 100k dmg I believe. Like leot said this would just encourage MORE reroll healers then we already have which is bad

I feel this is consistently misinterpreted. For every 10k dmg or healing done, you are WORTH +1 one honor. As in, when you die, that amount is awarded to the opposing team.

Ok? Do you honestly think a dps has the same chance as going 50k with 0 deaths or a healer can go 50k and 0 deaths? It would need to be scaled severely even if this has a chance cause dps and healers just aren't on the same level so shouldn't be worth the same honor
 
The more a healer heals, the longer he lives... the greater the reward is for others to kill that healer. Sounds reasonable to me. I have a hard enough time already trying to get people to kill an EFC's healers. This idea would encourage people to gang up on healers--which they should. Especially if every person in radius gets the HKs and not just the person landing the killing blow.

In fact, as long as we're just throwing out ideas (that in truth we know will never be implemented), I think a player who is worth more than just 1 HK should frickin' glow in the dark, or have a big gold "x5" or whatever over their head. Anything to get average scrubs to play more objectively.
 
Making somebody more worthy to kill depending on their performance doesn't seem like a bad idea...But since 90's get massive amounts of honor already from winning, i doubt they will implent this. Or inflate honor on victories.

But I already feel like i have a big gold x5 over my head.

Meh, in the end, GY farming will happen. If it starts happening to me, I just slip away and avoid the other team. As long as they aren't getting kills, they are wasting their own time.
