  • Hey guys!

I'm a oldschool lvl 19 twinker with some experience of 29. Lately I've been interested more and more in the 24 bracket and I'm just wondering about how active it is. Is it true about the 5 min queue's? What's the positives and negatives with 24 vs 19? Which server is the "homeserver" for 24 twinks? Well, yeh... tell me the basics. :)

If i'm going to start with 24 I'm thinking about lvl up my almost finished 19 prot fc paladin. How much difference is it in gear? Any1 have a link to a BiS 24 prot paladin? Would love to see both prot dps and prot fc gear.

Ps: I'm EU for those who didn't notice. :)

    Much love!

Check my EU 24 list, its a sticky ;)

There you can find twinks of all classes and some guilds. Pls note that not all armories there are BiS ;)

24 sucks in EU, played for a month -- maybe experienced one competative game at most.

Hm, if you are looking for competative games this was not the bracket to go for in the first place because alot % of the bg's are trial players who are just new to wow. I also believe you didnt just pug but played small 24 premades(?) and this bracket is deffo not for those specially in Op setups with immortal healers looking from a 20 f2p point of view. The games later at night are better cause of several wow veterans playing their trial accounts and there are lesser games going wich makes the bg stacking up with p2'ps who just pug the bg.

Another thing is that you can just addapt to the f2p style on your p2p account wich makes it more competative then rolling a 24 (depends on how many 24s are playing really). It seems you wanted more competative gaming wich you can create yourself but instead you giving up this bracket and telling it sucks.

I'm wondering about how active it is.
Very active and is almost 24/7 going, its more like 21/7 or 22/7.
Is it true about the 5 min queue's?
Yeah, these are pretty normal for horde in this bracket, You just have to see those 5 minutes as average queue times while they are about 10-20 on the alliance side for wsg. AB has an ok average queue time for horde too but on alliance you can wait from 25+ even up till 1hr+
What's the positives and negatives with 24 vs 19?
There are alot things to mention but i guess you can come up with things like mounts, criplin poison, a bit more moves etcetc.
Which server is the "homeserver" for 24 twinks?
I dont think there is a specific 24 guild and server(?)

super active-sometimes like 1-2 min pops....always AB pops too. Too many super leet 24's vs. nube ungeared 20's. So games are often faceroll or get facerolled, least often even matchup. I don't think there are any GF items in this bracket.

Horde [US] US get instant to 2 minute queues. Alliance has 10 to 20 minute queues. On WSG/AB weekend its even better.

24's have spiked from less than 3% of the bracket to a bit over 20% and that trend continues. Gear is BoA with lots of dungeon runs. The BoE gear prices have been rising quickly.

Contrary to above, hunters are only 42% of the average bg. Feral Driuds, Paladins and Rogues are next but well back of Hunters. Least seen are Warlocks.

As always in any bracket rolls happen a lot. Primary reason though is not the lie offered by a vocal few trial account players that 24s are the reason. The main reason is the Alliance has vastly superior gear at 20 and solidly better at 24. The Alliance has been rolling the Horde except for when groups of 24s show up.

    All US info.

Being a f2p is easy, being a 24 is easier. Horde have 1-2 minute queues almost all the time. This is the wrong bracket if you're looking for competitive games.

Only true in AB. In WSG, the pug win ratios are about the same.

    1. If you pay in any game it is always easier than if you don't.

    2. We (Horde [US]) often get instant queues.

    3. No other xp off bracket, especially one with 24/7 queues, is competitive by your standard. We get great contests daily and have a lot of fun as a guild as we build the ground work for regular, intense Premade vs. Premade battles.

    4. Alliance pugs roll...strike that, farm Horde daily in WSG. So much so that by default Alliance automatically go up under the Horde graveyard even when they are losing. Your "about the same" needs to be recalibrated. The Alliance domination of AB is so obvious and complete even you concede it.

This bracket is thee bracket till MoP hits and will continue to be until the new PvP season kicks off. At that point it will still be the most active XP off bracket. Trial account activity, wherever it resides, will always attract XP off players for various reasons.

Hopefully Blizzard leaves Trials at 20 as the higher the level the greater the difference between the two account types. There will always be a difference as long as the trial program exists. As it is that difference is increasing in MoP with guild reward and best in slot legs showing up. Instead of hating on 24s trial account players would do well to establish good relationships with 24s and many are doing that very thing. This is ONE bracket and ONE community, like it or not.

    1. Yes...?
    2. That's close enough to what I said
    3. True, that's why I prefer to play private servers/endgame
    4. This was true, but not now. Unless horde actually having one objective oriented healer makes that big of a difference?

Please don't be so defensive and take every comment from someone you know to play F2P among other things to be an attack to yourself. -_-

    1. Yes, that is about what youakim said.

    2. Yes, that is about what youakim said.

    3. It's nice that you have fun! :) I have too. I like this bracket. But there are other brackets with less activity but differing levels of competitive play. That is what youakim correctly informed the OP of.

    4. Concerning AB, yes, that is about what youakim said. Concerning WSG, apparently our experiences differ. Consider that you, from what I know and please correct me if I am wrong, usually queue with 5-mans from your guild. This means you get to observe 10 Alliance "Pugs" to 5 Horde.

    EDIT: Aw. slow. ^^

Theres normally 2 lv 24s on horde per bg and 1 lv 24 on ally.
Ally normally has 4 hunters and horde has 3.
Horde has a 2:1 ratio with healers but like 30% of horde is under 1k hp while ally only has like 15% under 1k.
If horde ever figured out what gear was they would be just like ally was in the beginning of this bracket. If you do roll a 24 please don't roll a hunt or pally as those are vastly overplayed for BOTH factions

OP is an EU person... why all the US info?

And please remove that US flame war stuff! Its all way offtopic. EU and US 24s are also very different. At the EU they are respectable twinkers while the people on the US are rather noobs/scrubs with their gy farming. It doesnt or rarely happen at the EU, thank god.

After reading more about the 24 bracket and talked to some ppl I've decided that I'm not going to use my lvl 19 paladin since the char got some important grandfathered 19-gear. I will tryout the 24 bracket tho and I will make a H shadowpriest. I'm working on AGM and stuff atm and hopefully I'll see you guys in some bgs later on.

Oh and yeh: Change the paladin help thingy to Spriest help ;)
