my f2p battleground thoughts

hello! ive just been looking through some of the threads regarding f2p battlegrounds and the effect that level 24 twinks have in these games. firstly i would like to say that what i am about to write is only the opinion of a young college student who knows very little about WOW and cant sleep so decided to share his opinion.......this should be taken lightly!

i have just finished a night of pvping with the trials in WSG and i realised that i had alot more fun tonight. i also realised that there was alot less lvl 24 twinks playing tonight. when i say i had "fun" i dont mean i won every match and had pocket healers following me as i did whatever i wanted....i mean it was an actual CHALLENGE playing against people of the same level and (roughly) the same skill. there were times when i was ready to throw my laptop at the wall and go outside and get a life instead of playing wow all the time ( i know...what was i thinking?:p). the games tonight reminded me of the early days of f2p accounts when i rarely saw a 24 twink. those were the days! yes, there were ally teams with 7 hunters and 2 healers, and yes there were horde teams with 4 - 5 players with about 500 hp....but it was still fun! the games were usually very close and ended with a score of 3-2 or something like that.

battlegrounds with a group of 24 premades are not really battlegrounds at all. i usually either stick to the edges of the map to avoid the fat 24 hunters running around midfield ( i always imagine the people playing 24 hunters being really fat and unable to move off the couch as they barely bat an eyelid gunning down everything in their path.....there is NO skill!) , or if the premades are on horde then it usually ends with GY farming....which is quite possibly the most boring thing ive done on wow. ill be honest i do enjoy having 24 healers keeping me up while i midfight to my hearts content....but i dont consider these games a challenge....at all. and isnt that what you really want in a battleground?

no lvl 24 twink can truly experience this type of battleground....unless there are and equal number of 24s of the other team....which rarely happens. and so i come to my point, after a very long rant, and i now challenge any 24 twink who reads this to roll a lvl 20 char and see what it is like to actually work hard towards winning a match....using teamwork and skill and other stuffs i dont really know alot about  you will experience something only the trials can when you guys arent smashing through us like we are made of glass. just try it at least.....i have so much respect for the p2p people who cap at lvl 20.....a true show of sportsmanship!

as a side note i would like to add......i dont know what i despise more....a group of premade hunters and healers....or multiboxers....

so anyway just keep in mind that i was half asleep while writing this and also i may have offended a few people....just remember that i mean nothing personal and some of the 24 twinks are very nice people who i have had lots of fun with playing with!

thanks guys....you fat sluts:p

p.s im aware alot of this has been discussed already so please dont hate me for it babeseses

Welcome to posting in TI, enjoy your stay.

I agree. Sometimes it is fun, even if it is hard and we often lose. The stuff that makes it not fun at all, is when the allies start farming the GY. You can't really leave, since you get that 15 min deserter debuff. If you stay, you have to get pwned for the rest of the match..

both sides farm unfortunately...the most annoying thing for me was when i was playing on my warrior, the same people i kept alive in the previous battleground on my pally were spawncamping me.Hurr durr

Most of the 24s in this bracket aren't that good at all tbh, some will stay, some will come and go but there are more 24s now then there was when f2p was still young.

I'm glad you enjoyed your night of games, the f2p expirience can go one of two ways but i'm glad you expirienced the better half. If your a regular though, prepare for good days and bad days.

Believe me, you feel even more proud and happy when you nuke couple of 24's with a premade :)
The thing is - those folks that rolled 24's will probably never roll a 20 and play with it since there is no point for them to do so.

Most of them (most, not all) are 85 scrubs who get pwned @ arena's and/or BG's so they come here to fill mighty and 1shot ppl.
I really see no other point in playing so OP in this bracket.

So my advice would be -> find ppl you enjoy playing with.
Running into 24's with group of skilled ppl can turn the situation in your favor pretty easy.

the rare times when i do win 1 vs 1 against a 24 is a great feeling indeed! i feel safer fighting the pala 24s for some reason:p ....again no offense to the pallys! and sadly i agree with you and i doubt my post will change any 24 twinks minds....i feel that soon there will be premades in almost every battleground...it is becoming too popular! gone are the days when i could run from one end of warsong gulch to the other without being one shotted by a 24 rogue! :p

Ran 7 games yesterday 5 of them had horde Premades, lvl 20's on alliance look pretty happy seeing us since it's was a fair fight . 5 -24' on each team and not a blow out.

/tickle

i play both 20's and 24's but have more 20's than i do 24's. most of the community will agree with that statement. i have fun playing on either one.

Good post and welcome to the forum. Don't forget about attending classes btw xD

24s are a real problem, indeed, but the real plight of this bracket is gazillion of ( alliance) hunters. 24s are ruining the bracket, but their numbers are rather low to adversely affect the overall picture , while seeing 5-6 (nelf) brain-dead huntards in bis gear in almost every bg is a normal thing. Turning a blind eye on this problem doesn't make it disappear or make it more palatable.
Stop QQing about things we can't change and start QQing about things we can really influence and change as a community

Not sure if we can stop ppl from rolling ally hunts as a community, but we can decide ourselves what classes are worth playing :)

Holding out for a hunt nerf tbh. Next x-pac you all shall qq at my awesome druidness. :p

Well, one way to discourage alliance from rolling more huntards is a creation of a horde "punitive premade group" made up from only hunters.Just for the pure sake of lolz. 15 horde hunters in AB will definitely force ally huntards tremble in fear or even rage quit game (yay, mission accomplished!!!)

Your druid is already awesome, or rather the person sitting behind his huge shoulders is. You amaze me every time I see you in a battleground the things you pull off.

And rolling several of any class in a bg is crap. We've all seen where the majority of the team is hunters or sometimes rogues. Today I saw alliance rocking 6 druids. No horde survived across mid.

And Potatoez, I don't think this would actually make a difference. Ninety percent of the time I feel bad when I see horde hunters, no matter which side I'm playing. Because the majority of the time they at most have 1100 health, and usually not even over 1k. When I priest it up, I'm stunned when the horde hunter with 450 health thinks he will bring me down. Like hitting mosquitoes.

Yeah, we kinda lack geared hunters to put it mildly ;)
