They wouldn't get rid of F2P. It's bring a lot of people into the game, and as long as ONE more person starts paying they made a net profit. Keep in mind 99% of us have already paid Blizzard for years or at the LEAST months. If anyone starts paying again they are happy.

This is my guess.

I mean really, when has Blizzard ever considered anything beyond endgame or new player recruiting.

We do not affect either so we will continue to slip through the cracks.

1, that's silly, and 2, DMF

^ I actually prefer DMF for BoAs. I prefer to PVP for the enjoyment of PVP. As soon as you introduce the honor grind to PVP it becomes work, and therefore stops being fun. Like the old system Rank grinds. I remember hearing about guys literally falling asleep at the computer in BGs. I don't want the only part of this game that I enjoy to turn into just another time sink.

^^ And when Blizzard remove their heads from their asses, and realise that this is why twinking is so much better than endless seasons of gear grinding at endgame (and the reason some of us won't pay), then I will start refering to them as game developers.

Just because they have millions of customers does not put them in the same league as game developers who pretty much created computer PvP games, like Id Software and Epic (Doom/Quake/Unreal). They understood PvP game design. If it's not fun, then how can Bliz even call WoW a game, or themselves game developers?

1. I don't think they will get rid of F2P simply because we are a TON of Torrent Servers for their paying customers. How much do they save using our computers as servers for their patches?

2. We visually "FILL" what used to be empty starting lands. New subscribers see so many people playing right off the bat that this must be an awesome game if this many are playing.

3. Lastly they can inflate their advertising numbers when it comes to "After 7 years we still have 11million people playing Wow!!!"

How much is all this worth to blizzard? Enough that I think they wont be getting rid of F2P soon. Yes we take up server space and bandwidth but I think #1 more then balances that, so 2 and 3 are profit, seriously how much would a company pay for #3? My 2 coppers anyways 8oD

I think its safe to say that none of us know what type of lift Blizzard is looking for to their MRR (montly recurring revenue) with this promotion (F2P), nor what type of lift they are actually experiencing, nor how much the promotion costs them.

Got that right. Cant wait for that game. Then hopefully we will see something called balance.

Yep. Just like ever other new WoWkiller before it...

Wow is like that ex you keep getting back together with. She's kinda annyoing but you just deal with it because it's better than being alone. A new girl comes along now and then that's hotter, or smarter, or seems less annyoing. But in the end, it's too good to be true, and you go crawling back to the ex.

And just like that ex, everytime you try a new game and go back to wow, your chances of every really liking a different game go down. You keep comparing the new game to WoW and find flaws.

I honestly almost quit WoW when I started because I was comparing it to Asheron's Call. Lucky for me AC is dead.

Hey Will,
Tailoring? Just for the Blue Linen Shirt? That's Hard Core...
Enough leveling skinning and LW for armor kits, Herbs and alchy and inscript for pots and scrolls, enchanting for well... cooking, first aid and fishing...
now tailor for a Shirt... WoW...
PM in game game some time or add to /f list >> NavyRetired

He may have also leveled tailoring for the DMF tickets. Those things are like crack, you find yourself making all sorts of poor life choices for them.
