My Worst Nightmare

Blackout

Greatest of all Time
I just made the worst mistake of my life..

I discovered that void storage is usable at level 19, and my rogue is 7 years old next week so i've had alot of items, alot of BiS sets in that time which i have saved every single piece of every single set since the day i made it.

I started out by thinking it would be a good idea to put the grandfathered items / items that have grandfathered enchants on them into the void storage bank first, just to clear out some bank space. I managed to clear 2x 24 slot bags full of grandfathered enchanted items, everything you can think of from Stam naxx, AP naxx, SP naxx, to exhalted scryer AP enchant and aldor exhalted AP enchant, to +20 nature, fire, frost, shadow and arcane resistance head enchants, +5 all resistance shoulder enchants, all of the old leg armor gear with +50 AP 12 crit on on numerous sets of legs such as +8agi legs, 5agi 5 stam legs. even the 75 AP 20 crit enchants on the same legs, 40 stam 12 agi ones you name it.

Once i had deposited them ALL, i mouseovered them all only to find that every single enchant had gone, from them ALL. I was and still am devastated, as all of the evidence of this characters history has gone.

However when you deposit into void storage you get a pop-up which does say that it will remove all enchants and make the item soulbound, and asks if you wish to continue. Sadly i overlooked that, and thought it was just a clarification window asking if you were willing to pay 25g per damn item to deposit it into the bank.

I have had 3 year relations ships where i have been LESS gutted than i am now.. So i am asking for your honest opinions. Do you think GM's will restore the enchants and remove them from the void bank? (or i can remove them manually, it costs nothing). Or does anyone know a good strategy i should use when talking to the GM's to help me get around any crap they might fire my way?

Thanks for any constructive responses in advance

i wish you all the luck bro, i feel with you

This is sad, hope you can get them all back, pretty much depends on GM imho. What about this (quite risky idea tho). You get the items (w/o enchants) off void storage and drop them for good. Then ask GM to restore it since you did it by mistake. Hopefully even w/ enchants and if not, I would make another ticket that your enchants on those items are missing :)

Would be probably safe to try it only with some less valuable items for the beginning.

Blizzard have gotten even more picky with Tickets and what GMs "can do".

With tickets about a choice you've made in Game, such as accepting to put things into Void Storage or choosing a Quest item, most GMs refuse to change it back/change reward for you; some new policy apparantly.

They say that Tickets shouldn't be a form of "customer service" and that it should only be used for bugs.

A couple of my GMs said some bullshit like "developers really want to make your decisions in game matter".

Hate to be all negative bro.

But heck, you might as well try, there's always some GMs who aren't tools.

Can always try but its probably as hard as de-lvling a character.... (Was clearly written in the patch note that any enchants on items stored in the void storage would not be restored in any way)

Good luck

I will say this as a form of encouragement. When I got my first 80 to Argent Champ and bought the BOA Bow for my 10 Hunter (thinking it would have at least +1 Hit on it at 10) I mailed it to my 10, equipped it only to find out there was no +hit at level 10. This was before there was any way to figure out what BOA stats were at a given level. This was also before the buy back system was implemented. I mailed it back to my main and left it in his bag. Contacted support and was polite, saying it was my fault and was there anything they could do on their end. When the GM got me in game I was again polite and he came back with this:

He gave me a one-time-per-life of account do-over. Essentially he told me that if he refunded the champ seals for the bow he could do it once, EVER and to make sure this was the mistake I wanted to use that "privilage" on, so I did.

Oh shit... i feel with you daz
<
i really hope everything works out well for you and yes indeed that rogue been trough hell of alot .... wish you best of all luck - Stubs

Also, while trying I'd suggest that you offer to "pay the fine" so to speak by not having Blizz give any of your gold cost back from the deposits, and even to charge you again for the withdrawals. Doing this helps to show that you are sorry for your mistake and wiling to deal with some of the consequences (yes I see the irony in that gold is just 1's and 0's to them). The bigger issue is going to be the fact that Blizz probably cannot force some of those chants back to the GFd way even if they wanted to be nice because it's based on the game code today. Any chant that didn't get slapped with a level req (even if it's no longer attainable) might be doable for them.

I'd start the ticket with " I'm a giant fucking nerd who cares way too much about a clique in a video game."

The downside is that years ago I watched you're dual rogue arena vid and actually respect you as a player, but this is just way too easy.

If something related to your world of warcraft character is the worst thing thats happened in your life, youre pretty lucky. that being said, doubtful a GM restores your stuff, but gl.

Worst thing that's ever happened to me is a fat kid fell on my leg when I was 9 and tore a ligament.

Bad things don't happen to nice people.

It only happened to me because that morning I didn't say thank you to my Mummy for making me Ready Brek.

Or so I've deduced.

i gather that u have learned from this most heinous mistake

just keep making tickets. i have maneged to get lost items back. the last thing a gm helped me with was blue proto drake, got it in a BOA bag on my 85 and i managed to loot it and it was soulbound on the 85 :/ the first one said NO WAY! but the next helped me out.

sure that was not an item i hade and lost but a GM can help with most things u just need to be a bit lucky with who u get. GL

I've had ~6 of these
