Pros/Cons of Horde vs. Alliance

Hoping to hear some thoughts on some of the differences between rolling a Horde character and an Allaince character. Obviously both sides probably have some unsavory players, so individual cases about players you hate will be disregarded. I'm looking more to hear about gearing difficulties or advantages, queue times for BGs, premade strength/weakness, etc.

BG PUG Ratio:

Alliance 8 - 2 Horde

Alliance:

- Melee Leather/Mail gear advantage

- Long queues

- Currently lacking p2ps = Mostly solo play, though its quite easy to get a p2p if u rly need it.

Horde:

- Caster Cloth/Leather gear advantage

- Fast Queues

- P2P online 20-7 = Premades throughout the day

If you want to make a char which comes top dmg/kb and you're mostly going for quick solo wins - go alliance.

If want your quick wins through team play or prefer a support/caster dps classes - go horde.

Hunter is the most OP class. They get the best and easiest gear (Crutchpatch & Pants) at Alliance. This results in Alliance winning more and even more people rolling A Hunters. This creates an imbalance which makes it the winratio about 8 - 2 as Emo stated.

However, if you want to play premades and want a great community, definately go AP H.

Crit and hit boots, crit ring, leather wearers get crit or hit bracers and crit gloves as well. Much better caster shields to chose from.

The horde cloth gear advantage is 10 health... that is all. Crit gearing is identical, Stam/Int is 10 health.

Actually, Ally Shams and Pals have a far better shield to use (Stockades) if they choose to go for the LFH.

If they choose to go Eyepatch, that opens up slots for hit that would have otherwise gone to Boots, Bracers and Ring. The STA and INT made up in these spots more than compensates for the lose of crit from using Seedcloud Buckler.

Playroom said it all, pretty much.

If you plan on rolling a character on Aerie Peak and you'd rather premade than pug, go horde. Horde has twice the player base and all of the P2Ps necessary to organize group activities on a daily basis. Alliance is dead on AP.

I play both sides and notice distinct factors in each. The problem I see is that the quicker queue times of the horde attract players who put less emphasis into their characters gear before starting to pvp than the alliance. Hunters for example result in an average HP of around 700 in the horde and usually double that of 1400 for alliance hunters. Alliance are accustomed to winning and then gy farming so they are usually on the offensive to achieve this. Horde pugs generally look at battlegrounds in a couple ways. They either want to check out the F2P scene quickly without a lot of time invested or they desire to premade or arena so the chances for seeing bots and afkers is high. Alliance rarely has either and attracts players with the mindset of destroying lesser geared opponents.

Playing alliance I dislike how the group wants to farm and disrespect opponents and playing horde I dislike how the team has little interest in trying to win.

This is merely my observation, I'm sure others might see things differently.

I wouldnt say alliance wins alot(well from bumping into alot of horde premade). But alliance players do have a better attitude in games. When its a fair premade game e.g 5 horde AP vs 5 alliance AP in my experience alliance usually wins the premade. If you have the patience to use f2pq go alliance.

alliance:

pros: win every single pug game that isn't vs. 1. AP horde premade, 2. against a ton of horde 24s, 3. Navydew. have access to laughably superior gear that you have to do absolutely nothing for apart from random queue for dungeons and 15 minute quest lines

cons: long-ass queues, feeling like a douchebag because you are a douchebag

horde:

pros: short queues, like a total of 3 marginally better caster items, not feeling like a douchebag because you're not a douchebag, having the opportunity to beat up on horrible alliance players who think they're hot shit

cons: lose every single pug game that you're not group queuing for or have a preponderance of 24s on your team, have significantly inferior gear

I would take shorter queues over a character equiped with an Eyepatch in EVERY slot any day. If you've taken time to play any amount of end-game PvP you'll learn to enjoy it wether you win or lose. I'm just glad to get out there and do what I do best, getting in the top 5 and still losing a game means I win twice in my book. There's too few players who play objectively nowadays there's no point in caring too much.

Care about AB.

Wreck face in WSG.

Skillpatch in every slot? Go on.

Alliance - You get to listen to me whine.

Horde - You get to listen to me rage.
