Legendary Relic Farming

So I managed to do the Lodge upgrade which boosts my chances for item procs, but wasn't sure what the hot method is for farming relics (is questing or dungeons better, or do I need to enable WQ)? Thanks in advance! <3

Dunno what level this is your referring to. There's procs from quests which increases ilevel by 7 per. which is epic.
Then there's from drops when u kill stuff with a level 24-25 char that gives the same amount. depends a bit on which relics u looking for some of them are harder then others since they're zone specific drops.(Arcane, Fire in specific since they're from suramar.)
This info is ofc for level 20s but i assume the same goes for 19s, 29s, 39s, and so on probs. for 10s you need to be level 14 if i remember correctly.

For ilvl 28 artifact relics you need to be level 24-25 and farm in the zone they drop in, like brilliant said.

If you're an MM hunter, storm is in aszuna and blood is in stormheim. If you're f2play youre out of luck, tho, because they will only drop for level 24-25 (even from lockboxes, i believe). Just quest as normal with the boost from your lodge then.

@Brilliant Thank you for the reply. This is for my 20 Hunter. So essentially just look for one-time quests our in the world where the reward is relic and hope for a proc? I am guessing some reverse-engineering to find which quests (Wowhead a list of relicts that my legendary can use, then look to see which quests reward those etc)? I believe I only have access to Storm and Blood relics (Life requires a higher level to unlock).

Do you still have your sub up? As noted there are green world drops for higher level characters that a 20 can still use, and that are as strong as the 20's epic upgrades. Checking the AH or farming on a dedicated higher level alt might be faster than questing through Legion hoping for upgrades.

Otherwise (and as general advice for F2Ps), relics come from the culmination of Legion quest chains. You can't just jump straight to the final quests of those, you'll need to quest through Legion in general.

I do for a little while longer! Unfortunately other than this lvl 20 hunter everything else is level 50. Looks like I need to get me one of those alts build sometime. Thanks everyone for the details!

It might be worth taking a peek at the AH to see if there are any ilvl 28 relics for sale, or asking in trade if none show up. Other people are aware that those are popular with twinks, and might save some that drop or even farm some themselves. One of the nice things about still having time is that you don't have to do everything all by yourself.

ALL Relics drop from Legion Invasion mobs, even the 2 normally from Suramar.

EDIT: In case it isn't common knowledge for some, I'm referring to the Legion Invasion that takes over a Legion Zone for 6 hours now and again.

@Brilliant Does it matter if I level an alt to 24 OR 25... as do they both reward the same iLevel of relic regardless?? I don't want to proceed to lvl 25 when 24 is beneficial for something else perhaps? Thanks!
As far as im aware. It does not really matter if your 24 or 25. Ive just stayed 24 anyways to be on the sure side. But all the items is boe and theres several spots that is definately soloable. But ofc best in groups. But theres people doing these farms regurlarly so shouldnt be to much issues gathering up for a farm but yeah relic specificly, is lockboxes and legion invasions for arcane and fire, and also all the other ones. The other ones u can also farm specificly in each zone

I only solo farm the i28 Greens - not sure there any spots you can't solo if your 24/25 is geared. Be warned not all the mobs you come across at the legion Invasion points are scaled down, although the level 45's aren't hard to kill on a 25, they do slow you down ....

If leveling a new farming toon look for a class with good AoE and survivability if soloing, not sure what other people use but I use a WW Monk, which I find alright, others might not. Helps having a ranged pull of some sort too

I just meant that theres some farms thats more efficent with more people farming. I use a fury warrior with speedset. Seems to work out just fine for me

The only place I've found poorly scaled mobs is Highmountain, and there are a few poorly scaled mobs there even when invasions aren't up. I'm convinced someone was just phoning it in when they got to the zone, and have put in bug reports on the subject.

And even in HM it isn't too hard to avoid poorly scaled mobs. I wouldn't recommend the zone as my top farming pick for a few reasons, but if it's what's up you can still make use of it.

The only ones I have found not scaled were in HM - and in one of the invasion points on the coast. The main one I farm when up is OK - ( the one where the Wolves / Free the bears WQ is ).

There are spots in all 4 Leveling Zones that have Mobs that don't scale, even if it's only a single NPC type. It's stupid and has been reported to Blizz since Beta.
