F2P vs VET - differences

yes even the other day a friend of mine which was pure f2p (and had 10 levels banked) locked his xp as f2p, subscribed for his first time, and logged back into his character which stayed at level 20

so long as you unlock your xp right before your sub ends you should be fine to queue even after your sub ends
Ah, so then making this way it removes all the banked xp (I thought it only blocked it for a while) and make the account not possible to bank more xp? And what happens with the other chars?

once you're subbed the locked xp is removed

if you don't lock the xp on the char and you sub you can't log it for the entirety of your sub or else it will level

Recently made a F2P hunter and ran into a problem. Although my profession cap was 100, I could not use ANY trainer-learned recipes past 60, even though they were learned and in my profession tab.

Any solution?

This happens to veteran players. Recipes get locked out despite your skill cap of 100. Starter Edition accounts (even if linked to main account) only suffer the 100 skill cap, without any recipe lockouts.

I've met many many people at EU servers who had played end game WoW and F2P account together for years. I'm 100 percent sure this is not true.

That is because; of Blizzards Account 1 Account 2 Account 3 policy.

You can pay for account 1.
Benefit from Account 1 on accounts 2 and 3.
And still suffer the starter edition restrictions on Accounts 2 and 3.

And since everything is shared account wide. Well.... All accounts benefit from the main account. /shrug

Any solution..... yep, pay for sub :p.
@Fat Al explained it in his post, this is a Vet issue.
We look cooler.....
We can make our weapons hit harder......
But we $hit when it comes to working a profession
Welcome to the Vet life Sponsor ;)

Its not about money. Its about sending a message. Aside from twinking, and even that is debatably fun, wow is so broken that I cannot throw any more money at this game. I could log into a 29 and get steam rolled by a group of tryhard horde twinkies that want to gy farm all day, or I could have exactly the same happen while I play on a lvl 20. It makes no difference except in one version I am paying for the privilege of getting bent over and fucked by the bros at the soup kitchen. I would rather just causally play here and there and let blizzard know that I think their product is defective.

We call them 'linked F2P' (actually noone cares who has linked / veteran / pure F2P account anymore . 'Who is pure' talks finished 4-5 years ago.

Battlechest doesn't exist anymore aswell. There is only a question of subscription.
Still wondering about next 7 day trial and how it will effect this all.

I dont think Blizzard looks at starter accounts and thinks "oh man, we must suck." Starter accounts are such a small portion of the playing population that I cant imagine we garner a second thought. The fact that most of us seem to maintain a paid account and a F2P probably plays into that.

never has .50c a day

vs

sometimes has .50c a day
It's more the challenge than the cost. As alluded to above, a great deal of F2P players also maintain a paid account. There's just a very unique feel to F2P that doesnt exist in any other twink playstyle or bracket, even vet.

At least they gave us 3free days of gametime recently.
Was meaning to say that one.
Battlechest still existed back then (exp bank came in later patch) and that trial was forced afaik.
Because i just got dc in mid dungeon and logged in to full account.
So separation on account types (which is basically none existing anymore now) wouldn't matter much when they turn on a free for all weekend show back on again.

Now ofc they probably going to delevel you if you never payed them but
a. Who the hell knows how it would effect old items in negative way.
b. Why the fuck would anyone risk loosing all the effort because some dumbfuck going to tell you how it is working as intended.

Reality is: having banked experience on account you care about is far more repulsive than loosing f2p pride no one cares about anymore. Hell if you care about achieving alot without high level - just never ding level 30 achievement on the account.

Then you can brag about how you did https://www.wowhead.com/achievement=614/for-the-alliance without having level 30 achievement.

Loosing 375 fishing to a daily quest still hurts man!
