General Weapons and how to swing them harder.

And what about ''I read somewhere in this web that some ilvl thing in your bag could count for your average ilvl or something like that. ¿Is this true?''

No, it is not true. during pre-patch, before they revamped everything, encouraging you to wear appropriate class armor/weapons, I had Stratholme Lily in my bags on my rogue. It did not count towards anything lying in my bag, however, if I equipped the item at the time, it would increase my stats. Obviously this wasn't worth it since I'd lose offhand damage by quite a bit.<

Edit: On armory it would count towards your average item level, since it's equipable, but it will not count towards any stats in BGs/Arenas, lying in your bags. If you have DejaCharacterStats addon, you will also notice that you have equipped x/y ilvl. Y being your maximum ilvl that your character can equip with the items in your possession.

the highest difference is base damage 2h on double WF items vs loom (as a warrior). that is as farnk undersatnds the only exception because as farnk understanding slower weapon is linked to higher damage and referred to as slower = better, however base damage increase on double warforge axe his significantly higher than loom axe however loom axe is 3.8 and double warforge axe is 3.6. but tooltip damage increases even in instance.

0.02

can someone tell me why you would like to have sunstrider axe for 29 twink? such has shaman?
Because it doesn't use the damage range of 3-7. The template takes the weapon speed and assess a damage range based on that bracket. So a 3.5 speed 1her is huge. OH doesn't matter from what I've seen, other then auto attacks. Any spell that uses both weapons takes it's damage from the MH and applies the OH reduction to that, rather then calculating based on what is in your OH. Fastest OH you can get is best AFAIK. You should check what lava lash does though, this testing was with mutilate on rogue.

Wep speed doesn't factor into WW or feral deeps in the same way, so you want the highest ilvl you can find. At least that was my understanding thus far.

I guess i'll just get dual heirloom mace

I haven't been on the forums lately but what happened to Common Legion Blade? Are we just ignoring it since it's supposed to get nerfed next patch?

The speed is getting nerfed but not the ilvl so for some classes it will still be bis

Fury Warrior question. I haven't been able to play, but I see that I should have a slow MH and high ilvl for OH, obviously for the % stat increase. Any data on whether a fast OH generates more rage?

So forgive me if I missed it as I glossed over the thread, but I didnt see the change that Ive found in the 60 bracket, and have yet to test in other brackets.

It use to be based solely on Weapon Speed, slower being better, but as of a week or 2 ago, myself and few 60s noticed that something changed. Its not just singularly based on weapon speed, but it appears to be based around Weapon speed and top end damage. BiS for 60s is now The Unstoppable Force.

does weapon speed affect Survival Hunters? I see them running around with Bloodied Arcanite Reaper instead of Eagletalon Spear boa.

Something has changed, I got the pacifier (4.0 wep speed) on my lvl 40 fury warrior and the tooltip doesn't change when I switch to pretty much any other 2 hander. Even in the 39 bracket it only changed 1-2 damage on tooltips....

This is pretty ghetto.

Tooltips aren't always correct. Sometimes they are displayed correctly, sometimes they are not. It's very odd. Test out the numbers yourself to see if the tooltips are actually correct or not. That is what I've had to do with a lot of different weapons. Sometimes the tooltip was correct, sometimes it was not.

Tested, looks like the higher weapon speed didn't make a difference so far =\

Sorry for the necro guys.
I noticed in bg's (20-29) that Mistweavers also seem to benefit from weapon speed. I equipped a staff and the DPS went up significantly. Is this correct or is it a tooltip error? Hard to test dps on a Mistweaver when your main aim is to heal but nothing wrong with smacking a few people out in between heals :p
Anyone have experience with weapon speed and Misty's? I will try and test in the coming days but thought I'd check if anyone already has done some. It's just I don't see Misty's with staffs. Snips below :-

Not sure if the lower Stam is due to the lower ilvl or the 2 hander vs the 1 hand + off hand difference? But the damage is much higher with the staff (I know there are even slower staffs). It doesn't affect AP so I'm assuming there is no difference also with heals between the 2?
