I am old enough. Do the math yourself.
Well, I would think the math would work out something like this:
-You say that you have listened to 5 million songs and you are 25 years old (but we can round that up to 26)
-So you have been alive for 13, 665, 600 minutes
-Presuming on the low-end that you've had on avg. say 6 hours of sleep a night, that would be 3, 332, 160 min you couldn't be actively listening to new songs
-That brings you down to approx.
10 million waking minutes to listen
-5 million songs (listening to each one only once) on an avg. of 3 min per song would be
15 million minutes
(and I would think that 3 min is a fair avg. considering your broad taste including jazz or classical compositions that are often much longer than that)
-Even with an avg. 2 min per song, it still seems utterly impossible
Anyhow, not trying to rip on you. As I said before, I agree with what you were saying in your post; there really is so much good music out there. It was just the numbers that seemed absurd.
Happy listening.
