Hey everyone, we've been getting some requests to allow guild recruitment threads to be posted in their bracket's forum instead of a general guild forum (i.e. 19 guild recruitment thread would go in 19 brackets forum instead of guild recruitment forum). Please vote for your favorite option.

Don't change

Make guild recruitment sub-forums for each bracket

Allow guild threads to be posted directly in their bracket's forum

All tied up, feel free to explain why you like each option as well!

I say allow them to be posted in their sections because they get more views and traffic that way. I don't think I've looked at the guild section once but I look at the 15-19 section often.

this probally wont happen, but it would be cool if a guild can somehow have like a guild page, in their brackets, that has any updates etc, but this is prolly a long stretch. kind of like a guild site, that implemented into ti.

What I would like to see, and I do realize that it is potentially a bit more work for the staff, is to have a period of time in which new guilds can advertise in their bracket's forum, just to get word out about the new guild and give it some publicity, after which the thread is moved to the guild recruitment forum. This would keep thread clutter at a minimum in each bracket's forum whilst also keeping new guilds more visible. I do not have any suggestions as to how long new guilds' recruitment threads should stay in bracket forums.

Sounds like a decent idea.

Stay as it has been or subforums. I really don't want to see a shitload of guild threads in the twink discussion forum. I would never read them anyways. I understand a guild wants as much publicity as possible and wants everyone to see the thread, but seriously, if someone is looking for a new guild, he should just go to the recruitment section. It isn't that hard.

I don't want any recruitment threads blocking the actual threads in twink discussion forum. It would just be dumb.

I was thinking of a compromise. All new guild threads are posted in their sections forum and a moderator will move them to the guild recruitment forum, but a redirect link when be left in the sections forum that will expire after one month.

Thoughts?

By a redirect link, do you mean a "moved" icon? Wouldn't that be out of sight after a day or two?

Keeping recruitment threads in bracket forums for a week or so would do much to nurture the growth of new guilds.

A new idea from Sil, I think it would work quite nicely, what do you guys think?

A solution for this may to bring back "guild lists" for the brackets, where active guilds would be listed with whether they were recruiting/premading or not with contact information. If they are then worried about personalization, there could be links to their threads. A lot of work but I know there are some dedicated CLs out there who'd keep things updated. ;) I know there are some forums that have a lot of stickies already, but it'd produce a lot less clutter than individual posts. Honestly the recruitment forum is a cluster of confusion. <3

I think it's a good idea, but you'll want to set some requirements to have your guild actually listed in the thread or it'll be unprofessional and more confusing if anything. The current forum should stay though as it gives guild's a forum for them to make a thread with more information about their guild.
