I disagree with it. I do agree that a Character must be build upon.. and the idea of removing skills or legendaries etc should never happen.. However it should be extremely hard to obtain a legendary...
Personally i would like a much deeper system with loads of more choice.
I'll give an example.. I want a completely different gameplay.. much more hardcore... A good system would be this:
Every Mob in the game Including Bosses Rares elites and normal mobs. Drop a Piece of their Soul. once every 10.000 kills perhaps.
Making these soul pieces extremely rare, And can be stored in some sort of Jar and sold on the AH and than be sort of Enchanted to a body piece (Under your gear)
There are different ranks of Souls... Obviously and a harvest reaper from westfall will give you probably a soul with 1 Star *
However a Boss like the Lich King would give you a 5* Soul piece.. or you could call them Soul Shards maybe.. or another name.. anyways..
When enchanted to your body parts they will give you a power from those mobs. Maybe a skill or a passive that does something.
A harvest reaper might have a soul piece which you can enchant your Chest with.. which will give you 5% armor increase.
Which is nothing game breaking but still a nice thing.
A Lich King soul piece would be enchanted to your head and give you immense power.. Like for example the power to raise the dead It's only a piece of a soul but you could Raise the corpse of ANYTHING.. and take him/her with you until it died and than you would have to raise a new corpse.. This is extremely OP i know.. and also farming the old ICC forever is super boring and probably you will never get it.. That is why all Raid instances have to be made Max lvl again and all old set bonuses must be obtainable again.
Anyways.... the problem is not that WoW does not have enough content.. it's that its not used right. Imagine what kind of amazing characters you could create with a system like this... There would be people that Never die even when they fight a 100 people because they got so many raid boss soul pieces.. which work together in such sick ways...

And there might be times when things get too OP.. and blizz will have to step in and fix things a bit here and there.. but they have to let go of that control imo. And just start to implement about 5.000 Soul pieces into the game... You can enchant every body part with it so in total you could have like what 16 soul pieces enchanted at once...
Wtf bro Onyxia soul piece you can lay like 10 eggs and have broodlings fight for you... and Baron rivendare can summon skeletons which heal you if you sacrifice them.. first boss in ICC will give you the BONESTORM AoE obviously.. xD
You can go wildddd with a system like this.. and this will allow blizz to make bosses so crazy OP.. that they might not be downed for 10 years before people finally do it. and that's fine.
Blizz doesnt even have to think about tactics to beat the boss.. because it's possible somehow anyways people just have to find the right combinations of soul pieces etc.. and teamwork..
Imagine a healer with full raidboss Soulpieces With maddd passives and madd OP heal skills... Healing a Main tank with also full raidboss Soulpieces to make him a better tank. They would be such unique characters.. probably the only ones like it on the planet.. And new combinations of passives and skills would be found every day.. Giving it a dynamic stability... In a system like this where constant changes are being made.. That is imo a much better way to balance a system. Because it will feel alive.
