Xpoff is a good taste of old internet

Over the course of the internet, I feel like the idea of using any website other than the mainstream (youtube, twitter, reddit, etc.) is becoming more and more uncommon. Websites such as this that cater towards a specific sub-community whereas many other forums like it have gone to die off. I don't really think about it much, but in the future there will be a time where I'll miss logging onto a website that isn't owned by big business and/or flooded by millions of no-names that we'll never encounter again and have no care in the world what they say to people due to lack of consequence within a community. Yes there are still assholes, but I'm hoping for blogs and forums like this to last a while longer. Which I'd imagine for as long as twinking exists in wow, yeah this site will last.

That said, it would damn sure help if blizzard threw us a bone from time to time.

I feel that, Xpoff is the first and only forum I've ever really frequented. (Reddit and the like don't count obviously.)

For as long as I've been on the internet I've involved myself with these smaller communities, I much prefer the aspect of seeing the same people every day instead of a random I'll see once then never again.

Hell, before I discovered Xpoff 3 odd years ago I was under the impressions that forums were a thing of the past lmao.

Even youtube was great at one point. Channel customization was more detailed and recommendations were more focused on small-time channels and not huge networks like ABC, CNN, FOX etc. People participated in groups, messages on people's channels, and such. Having your own custom channel felt like your own website. Then they streamlined everything and made all channels a boring white color (discounting night mode) with very few custom options.
