The Wii has a great library of games. Better than Failstation who's games worth mentioning are cross console and thus, not worth the time. (Kingdom Hearts is the exclusion, I own a PS2 for the soul purpose of owning Heartless)
The games are marketed towards kids because Kids to Teens is one of the largest markets in the video game industry. I don't wind that the new Hannah Montana game is on the Wii, because I am sure Nintendo our the company that made that game for Nintendo is rich now. M rated games have a very limited market compared to E and T games.
Mario is the poster child for Nintendo. That's like saying "XBox sucks because it is all hyped around Halo." Without the Halo franchise, XBox would have gone the way of Dreamcast (which I do own for the soul purpose of Crazy Taxi and Space Channel 5)
Also, while the Mario games on the Wii are great (Galaxy FTW) there is a slew of other great titles out there. Animal Crossing, (another great franchise from Nintendo) LoZ: Twilight Princess (a great addition to the LoZ library), Monster Hunter Tri, (Not out in the states, but another franchise that is no longer PS exclusive and a great franchise at that) No More Heroes, (You're either mad or a Nazi if you do not enjoy this game) Okami, (There goes another PS exclusive, amazing game), hell even the Wii Fit/Resort/Sports games are enjoyable and they all lack the mustached plumber.
That all being said, I am not going to be playing games like Boogie, DDR, Guitar/Band/DJ Hero, or Cooking Mama, but those franchise sell.

well im not a playstation fanboy, but even they have great games (FF series anyone? not to mention tons of other games like that...oh & katamari damacyi, etc. i mean there are still some great games there).
xbox also has solid stuff and idk if they would have died w/o halo, especially considering the amount of $ microsoft could afford to throw at the system, but it certainly helped. and games like halo are the reason i prefer xbox. i stopped liking zelda games after OoT, mario galaxy sux (cousin has it), animal crossing is like a watered down wow...just painfully boring and not rewarding at all.
i wouldnt mind wii so much if i was back in middle school or heck even hs..but ive just outgrown games like mario (except for n64. super mario, mario golf & mario tennis are gold). so enjoy it, but id take my 360 any day of the week. aside from games and shit i prefer the controls of the xbox and to an extent ps3 than the 'revolutionary' wii controllers...just not for me =/
