I've received an offer for 8K recently, but he's yet to come through. I'll sell it for a minimum of 6K if you can make the transaction before he does.

Nobody is going to try to "make the transaction before he does". If we are going to spend 25 bucks to get to your server and another 25 to get back, we have to be sure we arnt going to get there and you say "sorry, he picked it up". I will offer 5k, my transfer(s)

The fact of the matter is, he can wait a week or less and find someone willing to pay more. I found someone willing to transfer to me and pay 7k gold -- could have waited a little big longer and gotten more likely. I'd personally wait it out since the average price of Shadowfangs are approaching 10k.
