Out of all the members in Waw Tawent, I think I’ve endured the most discrimination, and most of you would probably agree. Over the course of time, I have faction changed quite a bit, joined multiple guilds and given false hope to the guilds that I was associated with. On my path to today, I have lost some great friends, gathered unsought hate, and lost the respect of many fellow community members.
My Story:
The Beginning
I created my 19 Shaman over 4 years ago in one of the most notorious Horde twink guilds in Bloodlust, The Chosen Few on Vek’nilash. I developed close relationships with many of the people in the guild, including Beastly, Incredabull, and others. I didn’t play my Shaman much at the time because I ran a 19 Alliance guild back on my home server,Kilrogg, on my Rogue Yournightmar (or as most knew me as, Kylaahna). My guild had a respectable amount of players, and was very active, but it wasn’t a very serious guild and it really wasn’t going anywhere in terms of progress towards premades and such. I decided to head over to Frostmourne and premade for Slash Spit. Sadly, l accidently leveled, but my rogue’s journey did not stop there. I headed to the 29 bracket to make a name for myself, and then later the 39s bracket. After leveling my rogue, my shaman became my main 19.
Anyways, let’s talk about my Shaman, Dasfizzla; after all, that is who I am known as in the bracket, currently. I played my Shaman every so often when I wasn’t playing 39s. When I played for The Chosen Few, it would always fall into inactivity due to absence of the more prevalent players in the guild. I honestly hated that, and it just drew me away from the guild.
masta ballerz
About a year or so ago, my friends from 39s had the idea of establishing an alliance 19 guild, called masta ballerz, to face the reputable guild Waw Tawent in a premade with the opportunity of defeating them. With this opportunity at hand, I faction changed and transferred immediately, without hesitation. My former guild mates weren’t happy about it at first, but when I told them what was planned, they were not as upset. In fact, they admired the idea of me joining a group of top-notch players united together to face Waw Tawent because of their dislike for Pizza and his guild.
The Fall of masta ballerz
Unfortunately, there was much conflict in getting a premade set in motion, and several people lost interest in the bracket quickly. They moved on to create twinks in the 29s bracket and later the 70s bracket. Having no desire to play 29s or 70s, and being stranded on Doomhammer queuing solo, I continued my journey to Bleeding Hollow.
Waw Tawent
I was very skeptical of joining at first, hearing all these rumors of Pizza and his guild. Waw Tawent was the only stable guild at the time (still is). It was extremely active and had people that always group queued daily. Those were attributes that I found very appealing. Several other of the masta ballerz crew transferred over for the same reason, activity. Can you blame us?
Now, when I joined WT, my guild mates from The Chosen Few basically severed all ties between us. I was later able to rekindle some of these relationships, but all respect was pretty much lost.
The Attempt at masta ballerz 2.0 (not to be confused with Saxx’s 3.0)
A good six months ago, several former MB members attempted to gather most of the masta ballerz crew for another strike against WT. Without using my brain, I faction changed with high hopes, but it did not pan out. Now stuck on Alliance side, I joined a new, upcoming guild named tRain cOw.
tRain cOw
Already designated as the A Team rogue for tRaincOw on my newly created Rogue, I joined the guild on my Shaman. Expecting masta ballerz 2.0 to work out, I notified TC’s leadership that I would be leaving soon. As time went on, soon turned to never. It wasn’t going to happen. In my time in tRain cOw, I did a few premades. My situation in this guild was very similar to mine in The Chosen Few. I built relationships and ended up tearing them apart by leaving. Joining on my Shaman was probably one of my most regrettable decisions at 19. When I left and returned to WawTawent, I received the normal 19 twink treatment and I was instantly hated by those who I had left. It was something I understood, but I wasn’t content with the situation. The only person that truly understood my actions was Discover. I was thankful that I could maintain our relationship, while the others have shown hatred towards me to this very day.
Conclusion
Throughout most of my career, it is quite clear that I searched for an active environment. A place that I could call home. A place with an active community. A group of players that I could get along with and group queue alongside. That is something that I looked for. When the opportunity to premade presented itself, I was all in. I was down to face Waw Tawent and to show them a good fight. Both times that I went off to Waw Tawent, I lost plenty of friends and lost the respect of many. I always went back to Waw Tawent because it provided a friendly and active surrounding. I am very content with where I am being in WT and no longer wish to move elsewhere. I’ve made great friends within the guild and enjoy being in the guild. I regret not having the ability to rekindle most of the relationships I’ve lost in joining WT, but if you choose to not be affiliated with me because of the guild I’m associated with, that is solely your choice.
Discrimination & GY Containment
When you think of the guild WawTawent, what come to your mind? GY Farmers. Am I right? Yep.
Do any other guilds GY farm? Yep.
Do I have proof? You bet ya.
Waw Tawent is not the only prominent guild that GY farms in this bracket. If it isn’t Waw Tawent GY farming, it’s a group of other people from alliance or horde Bleeding Hollow, or it’s Elune, or it’s just a group of people in a lesser known guild. .
Most everyone in Waw Tawent is pretty respectable. Many do not even GY farm. Some refuse to take part in it. The fact of the matter is, we all join up to win games. We want to have fun. We always consistently cap flags. If it is a bad game, we try our best to end it as fast as possible. If I’m on my Shaman, I’m always capping flags. If I’m on my Rogue, I’m always returning flags. Hell, Pizza is always capping flags – he does have the most flag caps of any 19 twink, after all.
It all comes down to this - everyone GY camps. You GY camp because you can. It’s a dog eat dog world out there. You’re going to either give it or take it.
