    WoW is a lifesink

    Minecraft is ok

LoL looks too cartoonish for me and has too long of a download lol

Can't compare. I enjoy both games. At the time being I'm tired of WoW and spend the time on Minecraft for the time being. Also Druidroid; Minecraft can be just as much a timesink as wow :) - When I first started playing Minecraft it pulled me in more than WoW ever did. Quite intriguing.

I'd pick Minecraft, but I am playing it on and off and mostly focusing on Rift right now.

I was thinking about rift, but the problem is, it is so much like wow, switching from wow to rift would be like switching from wow to wow. There's no point.

Not true, that's like saying every MMO is like WoW. While it is true that some elements from other MMOs and games are obviously taken from another MMO or game, not everything is. Rift is no exception.

Also, WoW runs on an engine that is 12+ years old. Rift runs on a brand new engine that was custom made for future MMOs; so not only did they build an MMO from the ground up, they built an engine to run that MMO and future MMOs from scratch.

I understand what you are saying though: quitting an MMO that has you doing quests/instances for gear just so you can do more quests/instances to get better gear to go to another MMO that works the same way (although, try and find an MMO that DOESN'T have you grinding) is going to just have you getting board again. In that case, take a break from MMOs and try out another game genre.

I quit WoW and took up tabletop RPGs for a few years and love it. I'm currently working on a modified version of D&D 3.5 and another RPG engine for a custom RP. I also casually play Minecraft, Spiral Knights, and Magic: the Gathering.

    I'd say, WoW.

I'm a HUGE Minecraft fan, and playing WoW for now a good 5 years.

If you planon playing the game casually, Minecraft, simply because it's a good game to pass time and great fun.

On the other side, if you plan on playing several hours a week, several weeks in a row, minecraft might not be the best. WoW will be better for that matter.

On the last note, it's up to you. Wanna play a Sandbox or a RPG. I just you to go with the one you'll get the most fun. (P.S: There's a way to get minecraft for free.)

That's so exact. I mean, every RPG seems to be a copy of WoW. There's rarely a RPG that get out of the rank, it always look alike, because, it's a RPG. You grind, you level, you quest, you PvE, you PvP, You get the point!

I played Rift during Beta and it was so much fun! But like I said several time about that game, I couldn't leave WoW for it.

I don't know Bankbeauty, I have high expectations for Guild Wars 2 - and they do not include being a replicate of World of Warcraft. I think the problem is lack of creative development. The designers etc. have all played various amounts of MMO/RPGs one must assume and thinking outside of the box seems to be an issue. *Prays GW2 proves me wrong*.

I refuse to believe it's impossible to make a multiplayer online game which is about roleplaying - that does not look 95-99% like something we have already seen. With that in mind, World of Warcraft is a continuation of Everquest, so meh ; )

Never said WoW was the first hehe!

It's just that MOST of RPG, are almost the exact SAME. Designers from all over MMORPG all just going from one team to another. Most WoW designer are old Everquest one, you know. So overall the ideology stays the same.

That I knew :) - You can also see it in the direction WoW took especially after BC, that it's basically the same crew. Just wish some would bring some original ideas. Something new. There's no harm in bringing in fantasy and inventing your own things - your own world. Why do everyone have to use things such as Health and Mana... Simple enough for everyone to understand, bringing in the largest amount of people? Casual? Probably the issue, only reason I can find for not being original.. it would take people time to learn the game - and perhaps make them lose interest.

Anywho, where do you play MC these days BB?
