Working on a CC mage

I was thinking chardev 8 - Cataclysm Beta for the gear any suggestions? It is currently horde and I plan on faction changing to alliance not sure which race to go though and is there any gear other than whats in that build that I should pick up before switching?

to much mana and missing hat :<

I'm guessing you don't have access to BOA's, sorry if it was mentioned somewhere. If I were you and you do have BOA's I would go human and pick up the haste trinket. Also, I wouldn't use inferno, but if you do throw 150 hp on there. Another option is to use keeshans dagger for the hit, only lose 2 stam then roll either cloak of stam or haste. A lot of options, so pick up any and all gear that might be useful.

for a CC'ing mage, whats REALLY important is the spec. (frost)

you'd want to stack stam and haste. screw spell power and screw crit. (assuming you want to be as annoying as hell, and want some über flag carrying skills). good luck =)

If I was going to make an ally CC mage I would make a Nightelf so you can post up somewhere and jump out to freeze entire packs of people that would probably otherwise kill you. If the water elemetal goes into shadowmeld as well that is even better.

Can you use move pet and the special ability without breaking meld?

I would suggest this if your going for a CC mage:

chardev 8 - Cataclysm Beta

Lots of haste, plenty of resilence, hit capped, good health, plenty of mana, and if u ever need more health, go herb/mining for your two professions. That'll put u over 1.6k health.

I'm Aware that the BoA legs aren't available atm but when they are they will be BiS.

Until then, use Godfrey's Britches
