Why do i never see this as a recommended option

[item=38798]Scroll of Enchant Chest - Lesser Absorption[/item]

I swear by this enchant. It procs often enough for me to feel that it is well worth the decision to apply instead of a stam buff or other chest enchant.

It has made me a the headache of many players as I sit with a sliver of health and still chop'em down.

[char=Maelstrom]Flayn[/char]

coz 25 absorbtion is nothing ? 4 stats give you crit armor ap health mana

25 absorption isn't nothing

of course if you want to DPS a lot, it's probably not the best enchant. but for a healer, or especially a flag carrier, it's a pretty nice enchant.

assuming you have it proc every 20 hits, and you're hit for 50 damage each time, you're going to have to have about 1000 health for it to proc once. but if you're a healer or an FC that is healing itself or others, then it's going to proc numerous times. if it procs twice (so that it absorbs 50 damage total), it's already giving you more health than what 4 stats gives you.

still, 4 stats seems like a better enchant for anything besides a flag carrier.

absorption

well, for me it works well as typically I am the one who blazes into enemy territory to retrieve our flag from the EFC. i cannot stealth in like a rogue so i am full frontal assault and I tell you it has saved my butt plenty of times especially switching into defensive stance and dual wielding with my spike encrusted arctic buckler and heirloom thrash blade.

If i die during a BG which is seldom, then i can see where starting out with higher health could be beneficial. But as I rarely die, the amount of health that this enchant has saved me is pretty substantial.

I just never see it recommended as a viable enchant for twinks.

Is it just too specific?

it's just not all that great. if you have +4 stats, you need it to proc twice just to out-gain the 4 stamina. and it's going to proc twice about every ~2k health, that is if you take 50 damage per hit.

4 stats gives you much more other stuff such as agil/str/int/spirit. and if you do something like bandaid to full, or get healed to full, that 4 stamina on the 4 stats will allow you to have 40 more health...so if you do that then the minor absorption becomes even less effective.

maaybe for a FC or something, but I prefer 4 stas on chest

You gain 0,8% dodge and 40 health from +4 stats, not to mention the offensive bonusses, absorption is not going to beat this even for FCs.

Just get [item=13895]Formal Dangui[/item] enchant that with +150hp, and put [item=23559]Lesser Rune of Warding[/item] on top. That's ALOT better!

90 sec cd ftl >.>

25/20 = 1.25.

This chant is statically equivalent to 1.25 extra HP per second.

It's bad overall.

[ITEM]Greater Rune of Warding[/ITEM] is better. Unlike the 1.25 HP/sec Lesser Absorption gives, the Rune gives a decent bubble for FC'ing.

SOB. I rarely see people from my battlegroup on here, let alone someone I've played against. You were giving me headaches the other day while I was trying to keep our FC up.

/highfive for Shadowburn

25 health rarely is the difference between living and dieing. It might add up to decent static hp but that's no how pvp works. It's like hitting everyone around you for 10 damage might be nice for overall dps but doesnt kill anything. I'd rather have the extra hp buffer from 150 hp or the constant stats from +4 stats. If you get healed with that extra health it becomes a factor again, meaning if you get healed the extra hp is a lot better

Yeah that was the one I was looking for. I knew there was a level 60 one! Just couldn't find it :) Thanks Thirk!

I am with you that chant is worth it I've tried it I made a thread about it before, if it procs 2 or more times while you are running a flag across the field it is better than most chants especially if it is on a high stam item

Actualy I don't think you can enchant [item=13895]Formal Dangui[/item] at all. Something to do with it not being any type of armor. Otherwise if it where any type of armor lvl 60 enchants indeed would be possible, so you could get 275 heatlth instead of 150 (anyhow this was pre 3.1, dunno if they changed it). So I assume Runes of Warding are allso out of the question.

[item=13898]Royal Dangui[/item] can be enchanted with lvl 35+ enchants, eg +6 stats, +150 health or +6mp/5s (but can not take any Rune of Warding, tested this yesterday <edit> yes I know about the lvl req, just letting you know it's tested allso...).

Hmm, actually I was bootin around on thottbot (yeah I know, it still has some reliable comments at times) and I decided to look into the Formal Dangui and for some reason it can apparently still take TBC enchants (+150 hp) but for some reason it cannot take WotLK enchants. It seems like this has recently been tested and it's still possible to do.
