I AFK if its my third game being farmed, or if we are steam rolling and the game isn't competitive (What Saxx said).

I afk alot these days as I usually have a baby on my lap and it's tough to play one handed while she smashes the keyboard.

Unless you're a druid.

:D

It is often a matter of pride. If you do well, but come in danger of losing due to the actions of some lost individual, why be brought down by them?

Most of the times I will just grind out the loss, but sometimes I quit because I was doing everything I was supposed to but my team was just doing nothing. If there is even one competent English speaker on our side then I will grind out the loss, but if everyone is mid fighting just whats the point.

Urgh afker`s. Today on horde side I had to endure a phenomenon I can only decribe as AFK anxiety. Too me, personally I abosolutely never afk. I believe it is imparitive to never do so in order to create competetive games.

Back to this phenomenon, all night, in the very beginnings with a not so soft mid chop followed by a hard gy push, there was systematic afkìng going on. It has turned into a culture. The worst is when a toon of the same name that just afk`d off your own team then enters the enemys team...

Now I can say for certain that in the last 10 minutes of tonights games the team would stabilize and we would finally have a full team. By this time however we would already be down a flag or two. We may or may not win, but at least if this cultural afking was not going on we could have some competition. In my experience when susposably pro players quit we do in fact actually win half the time.

I think more people should just stick with their team and try and improve rather then quit and log a differ character.

lost individual? them?

there are times you guys have immediately AFKd: after other team 1-0's the game and drop ins have flipped the game into a win, when at the start you are comp outrolled, when they have you outrolled your group on pocket heals, and mid wiped at the start along with forcing a retreat to the heal hut/GY

so was it "them" that was bringing the team down? a displacement term of looking at ones self in denial?

please have a seat

I think people are curious about the players who afk out with less than 1 minute left in the game. Why not stick it out for a few more seconds and be able to queue again right after that game, instead of having deserter?

really evident on the players who have near same name 19 twinks on both factions because they show the current win log rolling cycle, AFK to avoid the loss, they do not reque to play with the same group/comp again. so they switch to their other faction twinks quickly get into a hopeful winning cycle on the other faction.

que times swings are rather severe for one faction or another, and insta pops are many times the sign you are dropping into win loggers fail games

Alot of the afking I have seen since I started this thread is from the people who explained why they do it. Its for the most part they dont like how the game goes (there down and it looks as tho their going to lose). As much as you all would like to justify it, there is a reason you get a deserter debuff. Because that is what the afking is, Deserting your team. Oh well I am not looking to cause any drama. This thread accomplished what I was looking for, I look into people's thought process behind afking.
