Who's the better heals, druid or shaman?

With the 3.2 patch notes released recently, I've begun to think that my priest might not be able to cut it anymore. I spend most of my time escorting and babysitting FCs. I am afraid that most FCs soon will have some sort of speed enhancement which will leave me trailing behind and being quickly picked off.

So, I've decided to roll a new healer that will be able to keep up. The problem is that I'm not familiar with shamans or druids at all.

Again, my main goal in WSG is to protect the FC. From looking at their available spell lists up to level 19; druids have more healing spells available and I would then assume be able to put up some big healing numbers. Shaman look to have some nice utility with some healing ability too, but is healing wave the only heal available at this level?

I want to get some opinions before I start equipping some of the BOE items I've been collecting. If it makes a difference for the racial ability, this will be an Alliance twink. Thanks for the help.

Shamans have more powerful heals, druids have hots but can be dispelled by shaman and priests. FC id go druid, healer id go shammy

If your asking who is the better class. It would be Shaman, all the way. Druids will get raped by them. My druid today went into a WSG w/ over 3k health and was purged for like 2 minutes until all my buffs were gone. I had a priest w/ me giving me renews and shields and healing...the shaman won. Shamans have every---slows, kicks, purges, heals....and soon will be able to run you down like a little girl. Shamans all the way, even though I dont have one :((((((( QQ

Dranei (shammy) have thier HoT, which is nice. As a shammy, you can slow pursuers, inturrupt fears and toss out some DPS. With Glyph of Stoneclaw totem, you get a nice little personal PW:S. Your healing is vulnerable to inturrupts. If your opposition uses a hunter/warr and rogue on you you cant do much at all to kite.

As a druid, you can root pursuers, and shift out of snares on you. You can dispell curses. Its likely if your new FC is a drood that you will be able to keep up more. Your heals are as vulnerable to dispells as a shaman's is to inturrupts. You are extremely vulnerable to fears and dispells; but you can kite a warr/rogue forever. Stopping still to glyph-of-HT-heal your FC is mana inefficient; if your FC is properly being dispell spammed your healing output is much lower than other classes.

Honestly, its a tough choice. Shamans tend to be more effecient at reducing incoming damage, inturrupting CC's, etc, while druids are more able to protect themselves by kiting away, but if the fc is being dispell spammed will have trouble negating incoming dps (can only root one target).

Honestly, try both without enchants and see what you like better. Remember than in premades your totems are going to be targeted better; you HoTs are going to be dispelled more often.

Shaman would definately bring more utility, and with a druid FC these two hybrids would be an unstoppable team. OFC you could bring a druid healer in addition to the FC for more overall healing, but they tend to be sqishier and (like everybody else says) are dispel-vunerable.

[item]40914[/item] makes rank 2 healing touches instant. And you can spec yourself so that your hots will be 30% for resistant to purges/dispells. Druid makes a stronger healer on the go in my book. Shaman heals are so slow, even with talents. =/ Shaman are also more susceptible to CC and snares. A druid can shapshift out of slowing effects and is immune to poly in an animal form.

I see a shaman as being a stronger offensive healer, and the druid being a better defensive healer.

Shamans and druids are different. Shamans have more offensive utility. Druids have more defensive utility. Both have slows. Both have DoTS. Druids have shifting which is huge against defensive mages that try to slow or eliminate healers. Shamans have an offensive dispel mechanism. Shamans are slow healers. Druids (with the glyph) have a flash heal, and two HoTs. It depends on your playing style. I find shamans to be easier healers. Druids on the other hand (to be good) are far harder to play. You go OOM faster and you have a hard time getting out of focus fire.

Pure healer I'd say druid. Purge is beast though. LOVE purging agm shield. And if a sham+1 goes against a druid+1, the druid team is in trouble.

i agree with evocate its both a really different class to play(i played both) shaman is better in ccing the ppl chasing the FC but the heals shaman gives are very slow and shamans can be snared etc.

druids on the other hand aren`t that good in ccing ppl chasin the FC but they heal far more dmg than the shaman and druids can shipshape out of snares.

so it really depends on ur play style, its thrue druids are harder to play

shamans are sick because they can output a very consistant amount of dps and healing if their mana is up. and with some shamans running with around 1.8k mana they can be really good at doing that for a long time. the main problem it seems shamans have however is being able to keep their own health up. but with the dps/hp ratio being low at 19, ghostwolf, and glyph of stoneclaw totem there are a few good ways to keep yourself alive.

druids can be nice because of their hots/dots and when they do get travel form they'll be able to have an incredible amount of survivability outdoors. while their heals are much more versatile than a shaman's, they aren't as good with utility or mana conservation.

bottom line is, if you want a versatile healer, go druid, if you want a very balanced healer, go shaman.

Ok, I've running a Druid healer myself, and it is working more than well. Nobody in my battlegroup have the brain to dispell my HoT's, and my Healing Wave is on 0.5 Casting time with a 130 healing pr. spell, beacuse of the Glyph of Healing Wave.

I also have a Instant Cast Healing Wave (Rank 2) beacuse of the Glyph.

I tried to run a shaman healer to, and I could'nt get a heal thrue, beacuse the casting time is so long, so here's my opinoin.

Druids is OP as battlehealers and "Heal and Run", they have lot of HoT's, and a hard healing slow spell, wich for me, heals for 250. They also have quick small healing spells. Druids are great to flee, beacuse of the Nature's Grasp, and Entangling Roots. And Travel Form in 3.2

Shamans is best for distance healing, with there 2.5 Casting Time healing spell, wich heals for like 300-325, they are also good as CC's. They have slowing totem, and in 3.2 they will have Ghost Wolf.

I would say, PICK A DRUID! They fucking own with a balanced gear, and with Lifeblood, they is difficult to kill.
