They said they will be bringing it back once people have mostly finished current content, it was done so people aren't flooded with things they have to do (legion world quests + world quests in the old world). Hopefully that day is soon though

If you don't mind me asking, how exactly do lower-level characters win the fishing tournament? Seems impossible with the amount of flying mounts and how fast people get it done

Ive won it plenty of times on lowbies. Dead server works usually, but still not easy. Mainly knowing what you are doing. Make sure you stick to the whirlpool area because of the amount of pools that spawn there and the rate they spawn at. Have hearth set to booty bay. Pray the flyers fishing that day are stupid.

In other words they didnt want twinks to have an advantage while everyone was busy with legion pretty sure blizzard never liked twinks lol

I doubt they care enough about twinks to even consider taking out the fishing tourney just because they didn't want us to have an advantage.

If that was the case the Gurubashi Arena would be on hiatus also. Was there the other night on my 19. Only other toon I saw was a 29 druid.

Damn, wish that was the case on my server. There are still 100's & 110's camping the freaking Gurabashi Arena even this far into Legion. I was hoping everyone would be busy on end game and would leave it alone.

I imagine that extra cross realm/zoning stuff they implemented with Legion was going to interfere with proper functioning of the fishing tournament, so they took it offline like they did when they realized CRZ messed it up in MoP.

my cross realm group was good to me. it was available 90% of the time when i checked
