EU+US What's wrong with my gear?

Hi, for some reason a lot of mage twinks with much lower item level than me seem to have higher hp in arenas and bgs?

is there something blatantly wrong with my gear?

Try using a wand. Wands have shown they give 2h stats, but fill a 1h spot.

This would be because they might have been equipping wands in their offhand, which for some reason counts as a 3rd item, and gives a big boost to stats. (Any wand will do but high ilvl would be better for sure.

Just equip random low lvl wand and compare it to your ilvl 100 sword. You will see that wand increases ur stats in BG by alot.

Correct, stats don't have an effect in ipvp. This is because of the stat templates. Other than ilvl changes, that are fractional anyways, there's no way to change this.

But wands, for whatever reason, break this mold and provide extra stats. That's why you'll see almost all clothie twink with them.

Easiest OK ilvl that I can think of for the bracket is captain cookies wand. The green glow from it is cool too.

So, I was thinking...why are wands counting as two slots? My guess is that bows, guns, and crossbows are all two-handers — with wands being the only exception. I've had multiple max level pvp toons, and don't remember equipping a wand in like two expansions. I wonder if wands status as the red-headed stepchild of ranged weapons has anything to do with this oversight.

If I were being a lazy coder, that's the kind of mistake I'd make.
