I think I’d have to agree with the Legion Event. Except I developed a script that would allow my characters to do the events for me while I was at work and while I was sleeping.
There was a beautiful sweet spot in the river just west of Orgimmar where if you stood just right all you had to do was strafe a little to left/right and you could be in the two different zones where the invasions would take place.
Thus, I was able to get Warforged gear in nearly every slot on nearly all my toons that way.
Fun opening up those boxes at the end of the day! I probably still have some on some of my toons I never play.

It did take probably close to a year to get all the fragments and quests done for Val’anyr when it was current content during WotLK.

At around 80 SFK runs looting chests for Demon Bands, none so far. Had Two Feet of the Lynx drop and some nice ilvl24 greens for various toons drop so far.

The most I’ve done in a short span was probably legion. Even though the older xpacs was more of a grind to twink. I still think in a short period of time, legion took my soul for abit there.

Relic Coffer Keys. After Blizz decided that they should disappear from your bags upon leaving BRD. And to no avail, I never got the rings and neck I wanted.

Gave up farming for Lucky Fishing Hat when pre-legion started. Been farming it on my paladin since WoLK.

How do the drops in SFK compare to BFD? I'd probably just be farming with a lvl 100

Before we had scripts. In Vanilla, I used to strategically place an oscillating fan over the key board to keep from going afk.
