What to twink at 39

First off, I would like to compliment on how much good information is on these forums...

Secondly, I am in need of an opinion(s). I have been involved in twinking on my home server of Laughing Skull US (vindication) and have manage to make a collection of twinks. I currently have 2 19s a rogue and hunter. A 29 paladin and a 49 lock(aff). I have been wanting to make a 39 twink for about a year and a half now but I never really saw any thing in anything a above 29 until recently.

What ever the case I was wondering what class I should go with. I currently am planing to make shaman but I'm having second thoughts. Although i do have a PoD that I have been sitting on for a year or so. If you have any opinions on what is the best out there plaese let me know.

Thanks again,

Ziob(80)Warrior

Any class at 39 can be fun, and they're all viable in some way. If you want to do a shaman, you may want to consider just getting a Staff of Jordan, since it's nearly as good as a PoD per hit, and has better stats, and then you can use the PoD on a paly or warrior.

weakest specs at 39

warrior - ??

rogue - non-hemo/prep

hunter - ??

shaman - ??

druid - ??

paladin - prot

mage - frost

priest - shadow

warlock - demo

honestly there are so many different ways you can go.

PoD is good on an arms warrior, enchance shaman, or ret paladin. some people say putting it on a shaman is a waste but eh. not their decisions

I'm thinking I want a class to go out by my self. There really arent any good 39s on my server. If there are any at all. I could transfer servers when im done but I dont really know on any really active 39 guilds around.... Maybe i dont pay enough attention.

Side note...

If anyone knows where to go to get the stuff for a private wow server I can most likely host one.

Thanks,

Ziob

39 can be a nice change of past, shifting from the hp > dps ratio of 19/29 to the dps > hp ratio of higher lvls.

I havent played the bracket in awhile, but I did have a disc priest for 2 years before shelving him.

All classes can compete similar to 29, but imo you gotta stay on your toes a bit more.

I personally liked running healing priest, healing paly, FC druid, double hunter dps, double mage dps, lock dps, then the last 2 spots for w/e

Edit - I hope you have a great time on TwinkInfo, welcome to our community ;)

I'm thinking I want a class to go out by my self.

i'm going to go ahead and assume this means you want to be original

least twinked specs (in my eyes)

warrior - prot

rogue - non-prep/hemo

hunter - BM

shaman - enhance (especially with PoD)

druid - resto

paladin - prot

mage - frost (for good reason though)

warlock - demo (for good reason though)

priest - shadow

Im just stuck on trying to figure out what kills what in bgs at 39. The more videos i watch the more potential i see in each class.

Classes that have my attention at the moment are warrior, shammy, pally, hunter, priest??

I have a 26 shamen and a half assed twinked 19 warrior 26 hunter and a 19 priest. Although im out of toon spots but i can delete my DK and rez my hunter or priest.

Other thought is since i am kinda rolling alone healing is kinda out unless i did a xfer.

Heh healing I admit is truely only fun when healing people that are good, quite a few times I flat out refused to heal people due to my mana was better dpsing as a healer than healing them.

If you wanna roll solo I would suggest either a Hunter, Paladin, or Shaman.

Its not that i want to roll solo its the fact that there is no one else....

I would love to play with other people thats what makes it so fun. That and owning all the other twinks.... If there is a place to xfer to with people twist my arm. I just dont seem to know where to go.

I will agree that hunter pally shaman would most likely be the best solo.

3 battlegroups i believe are active with 39s are

bloodlust

reckoning

cyclone

and you're not going to find a 'best' class at 39, there is so much balance IMO that it's just up to what KIND of dps/fc/cc/healer you want to be, not which is best.

alright... ill see how old vindication shapes up to be at 39. For now I think ill stick with the shaman. If all else fails i can go resto or ele.

remember that a shaman does take skill though, if you're more casual it might not be fitting

Big surprise to me is Disc Priest. Herholyness is very good at his class. I have seen him solo 2 twink rogues.

I play a shaman (enhance) with PoD. I have tried every gear type out there and enhance is ALL luck. If you do not proc WF then you are toast. Funny as hell when you do though.

Irishshaman is a good shaman ele build. I do recomend that spec.

Ret Pallys are very nice. No cc makes it hard to overcome any 3v1 battle but I have not tried since the new patch and the removal of the penalty on shield.

Dont rule out protection warriors. They are a huge problem for any class. The damage now is bumped up and the new Mallet of ZF is just the support they needed. Trick is to gear for max damage and spec protection. Give it a chance and learn when to blow your CDs. Bloodbrêw is my warrior.

Master of the 39s now days are Hunters. You almost never see them but a player that can learn that class is insane ( any spec but BM ).

The days of the lock afflict/drain tank spec are gone in my eyes. Got my lock Cirrus to 377 Spell damage and used to dot ass down in the dirt. Now days players are hip to that game. You see a lock you kill it reguardless of your current target. Trying a Dest / afflict spec right now with a shadowburn glyph. Seems to work well I just need to invest more time to see if it is viable.

If you want to do well solo as a shaman, you may want to model yourself more after Grodala (Kilrogg server) than after the standard 2-handed enhance mold.

Why is frost so poor at 39?

I am looking at making a 39 twink next to play with some friends and I loved my old Mage, which I played as Frost. Hypothetically, I would spec something like this. Now mind you I have never played a Mage higher than 25 so I don't really have a full grasp of the talents available at that level.

Thoughts?

Arcane gets a hold of imp blink, POM, 6% damage migation.

Fire gets blazing speed.

Because of this, frost is probably the worst spec for survivability in the bracket, and frankly fire is much more viable DPS with all the new gear/spells that come up from 29 to 39.
