What to do with classic 19's?

Don't you "copy" over your character, meaning the original still stays in classic?

Just let it sit and play classic whenever a new wave comes around, if you prefer classic. There are still classic enthusiasts, and people will most likely jump between classic and tbc, depending on whatever they feel like. It's a great option to have, to be able to play different versions of the game and not just different classes and/or factions.

Since the game has yet to be twinks vs twinks, exclusively, you should always be able to find games. Especially when they introduce "fresh" servers, which I would expect to come around every so often. You'll definitely be able to ride that wave and get frequent pops from that.

You have to chose to stay in classic or move to TBC for each character. If you want to change back later it costs $15 every time. Yes Classic seems to be dead. I logged in on my 19 rogue and there is literally no one in the room where you queue for BG's in Orgrimmar. It's pretty disappointing for me. The entire reason I twink is so I don't have to keep re-gearing and stuff.

TBC will be the new hype for quite a while. I have no clue if people would even look to go back to classic.

People were still playing TBC/Wrath/Cata etc private servers after the release of Vanilla Classic. People were playing vanilla private servers for YEARS (a decade, even) before Blizzard finally decided to release their own servers. People will continue to play later expac private servers even after the release of TBC. No one expansion will kill another. People will be back to play their favourite expansion (or, in this case, base game) after the hype train slows down.

The whole "TBC killed Classic!" thing is nonsense.

private servers started in Van WOW, within months or less of launch.

for years prior to 2004, many gamers used hacked games, no CD hack codes, bit torrent downloads to avoid paying the box price. back then i had on my PC... GTA (SA, vice city, liberty city, CODUO, WC3 later WC3FT, legends of aria, Quake, Doom, unreal gold, lord of the rings (like WC3 in play), far cry, various F2Ps, and many more, all for free. when it came to WOW alot of gamers did not want to pay a box price and a monthly sub, that was the main reason for the start of private servers.

WOW was one of the first game that locked the game down, making it hard to dupe, move items player to player, due to files being mostly on their servers. GTA series after SA, starting locking their game down with registration, CD check, email, etc verification system

classic wow and TBCC are basiclly like private servers. so you twinking are on a limited time/life system. private servers start off hot then fade hard or get shut down. what brings hype and excitement in the private server scene is the fresh restart private server where everything is reset and all players start at level-1 again. this wipes all the work twinks did also. TBCC sorta does the same except you can move forward and pay to keep a copy in classic. when or if classic WOTLK rolls, clock starts again

blizzard is already merging all the dead classic wow servers into huge groupings, that may help a little, but like retail 5 dead servers merged = 2 to 3 more players in SW (from your server grouping), maybe.

blizzard has mentioned possibly doing fresh servers, also mentioned classic+. players re-twinking into these will be on the clock again

classic+ for those that don't know one of the continuation ideas for van wow, was ship/pirate themed and ironiclly 3 major islands which were shown in concept are somewhat were legion and BFA are now. sorta funny that parts BFA is heavily themed that way. pirates of the caribbean was big at the time, it was speculated they did not what to continue on the perception of leeching or conflict with games related to the movie series

TBCwas going to be classic+. blizzard decided to sell as expac to alot of flak, accusations of money grab, not finishing van wow, etc. blizz in a blue post said the reason TBC was not 60 content more or less...it would create super 60s
