what the hell!

Okay guys first a little story.

I came home from vacation the 26. of july. Later that day i started my pc and opened WoW. When i typed my pass it was wrong. I tried several times... Then i went on the WoW website and i said: forgot password. i typed my account name and hotmail. It said it was wrong. then i began to panic abit :p I opened my hotmail, but my password was also wrong. i tried to do a lot of things but nothing helped. Then today, the 27., im going to call blizz to change my e-mail to a new e-mail and if the hacker made it a Battle-net account then downgrade it. Do you think it will help? First time i got hacked and i realy want my account back

Moral of the story: Dont play wow at netcafes, dont go onto gold selling sites, dont type your login info ANYWHERE except for blizzard sites and dont give your login info to "friends".

i have never been on a netcafe. never been on gold selling website and noone knows my password.

I just want to know if you think blizzard can help me, by changing the e-mail and make it a original WoW account instead of Battle-net

If you no longer have access to your e-mail as well, be prepared to fax them your driver's license and have your WoW cd-keys handy. That's what my brother had to do when he was compromised and his e-mail account was also compromised.

First scan your computer for spyware, several times with several different programs (in before "ad-aware is best! No spywareblaster is!"). Use them all.

Then get your hotmail back (if it takes more than 30 mins for the dolts at microsoft to respond, switch to gmail afterwards), and then contact Blizzard regarding your account.

stop visiting porn sites as well. helps like hell

I find that redtube is atleast safe =P

But back to the topic, I reccomend getting an authenticator, I've never felt this safe with it. It's like having a solid steel condom o_O

PROTIP: Buy an authenticator

I pray to god I don't lose my iPod touch or it dies completely. I'm using it right now to type this message and I never go anywhere without it simply because of the authenticator

Also make sure that you still have time left on your account. Blizzard used to change your password once the game time expired. Not sure if they still do that or not.
