it's been a while since I've played a caster in 20s and I think it's time I play one again. What should I roll?

I've narrowed it down to priest, mage, warlock but I'd like others opinions, especially if you've played with me or against me

will probably be playing horde now btw

Would have suggested Warlock if the succubus didn't have a gf'd ability (sleep) so scratch that class cuz it's so bad rn. Mage is kind of the same but stronger in arenas. You can still play those 2 caster classes but I highly doubt you will enjoy either of them. Wet noodle dps is putting it nicely.

I voted Priest cuz I think you would like Disc. Attunement allows you to be more dps minded while still having juicy direct heals if ur gonna target someone. Class isn't represented all that well rn either, only like one handful of players actually "pushing" the class... Plus Shadow isn't as bad it has been recently altho it's still bad. Hipster specs aside, since you're going Horde, id go Priest!

I think the last time I actively played disc was legion 19s and that version was very fun to play in team fights. Schism wasn't the popular choice at the time but I usually went with it because of my playstyle. Still was able to hang near top heals while putting out respectable damage pressure, even securing killing blows at times.

I had to read the first post again to see if I missed the part where OP is asking about false answers only, but didn't find it :/

The Michael Jordan of the bracket would play a warlock so he could hit those 3-pointer Chaos Bolts

can you please elaborate on that?

Michael Jordan actually believed developing his 3-point shooting would take away the crux of his game that heavily relied on mid-range, fake and shoot, and driving towards the rim. The highest no of 3-points MJ attempted per game was 3.9 during the 1996-97 season.

“My game is fake, drive to the hole, penetrate, dish-off, dunk. When you have that mentality of making threes, you don’t go to the hole as much. You go to the three-point line and start sitting there, waiting for someone to find you. That’s not my mentality, and I don’t want to create it because it takes away from the other parts of my game.” -mj

in that case, frost mage. big push to the cone of cold one shot!

while that would indeed be fun, I'm leaning more towards arcane for the sustained missile damage if I do end up going mage, however I'm slightly concerned about having only one blink in this current meta

Apart from hunters, the 3 classes you mentioned are the strongest in the bracket. Arcane, destro and shadow are the top dps specs outside of hunters. Demo and frost have good utility, affliction does big rot damage.
Disc is the top healer, holy is also good and it does a lot of damage.

youd get blink, alter time and mass invis. More than enough to handle just about anything. but arcane is so bland!

I've been queuing my ww a lot lately, seems like most locks go destruction but the other two do look very interesting

true, alter time and mass invis can be very useful but why do you say arcane is bland? is it because you're mostly spamming missiles? it still ooms you pretty fast right?

The better way of playing arcane is using https://www.wowhead.com/spell=30451/arcane-blast
with all due respect, and this is very difficult for me, I am holding back here for the sake of my thread as I'm currently genuinely not the most knowledgeable on the entire meta, gearing, etc

just saying that without explaining why, at this point, is kind of silly of you
[doublepost=1644773732,1644772756][/doublepost]the votes are starting to point towards warlock

maybe goblin, for the rocket jump? this could potentially allow me to pull off some sneaky casts

are there any active 20 locks that would like to chime in?

Yawn. MJ wants to roll another high tier class and will quit within the month when games aren’t handed to him

are you implying that i am mj? sorry but i am not, and why are you also implying i would quit "within the month when games aren't handed to him"? i've played 20s for several years pal and i actually never want a match "handed to me", i want the complete opposite, fool

"Mj" is a little joke that started way back in legion 19s when I set out on a personal quest to be the best boomy

now i'm just a level 20 player with above average mechanical ability and an insatiable hunger to win any and every bg queueing mostly solo
[doublepost=1644783178,1644777633][/doublepost]are you guys voting warlock because it would be the easiest of the 3 to deal with when you play vs me?

I would go mage on horde because there are few that know how to cast poly. Warlock has potential with the right team but thats few and far between in solo queing. Which is what you do mostly. Disc and holy are good as well but lack mobility.

now this is something i can get behind

I put my vot einto priest, specifically spriest. it has great damage and great utility. From healing and aoe fear + solid defensives in dispersion and desperate prayer. Shadow also has a 50% ms in psyfiend pvp talent as well which can be nice in crowded team fights where no one is 100% focused on killing something like that ( in randoms at least) Not to mention you can add my utility with eng and tailoring ( nets) while offering really solid offhealing in shadow mending/shields with the mana regen helm or even just combat potions. keep in mind I am a little biased since shadow is my favorite spec/class in the bracket atm and I have played mage and warlock ( I have a gf'd suc pet warlock as well) But I have always aimed for the more team play kinda playstyle instead of glorious 1v1 1vx's ( shadow is good at this btw)
