Hello everyone, I want try and make this thread as useful as possible for us F2p twinks out there, I want this thread to be Favorited and be the "Be-all-and-end-all" for us twinks that like to try and do everything on our f2p toons.

Basically When MoP comes out, all f2pers for a couple weeks will be a little confused/ misdirected and distracted by the new content, A few people will be left in the dark and I want this to be a page to refer to for GENERAL knowledge about new features/things to do/grind when MoP comes out.

I say only general knowledge because I believe specifics of significant things will naturally have a post of their own, but this will be the thread to refer to for general knowledge, name drops, links to all the new MoP features/shit/Gear/achieves/Boas/pets etc.

Maybe they're will be new BoAs that will hold up as "BiS' for some classes, maybe some new lvl 15-25 blues to chest loot, hell maybe our blues (like ring of precision) wont be wearable on lvl 20s anymore (ekk!).

Basically everyone is going to post on this thread either how to get ready for MoP, or information about MoP like important quests/achieves that come out and should be done ASAP. This thread will have a use before and after the release of MoP.

Ill start this thread with my preparations toward MoP:

Basically as a rogue, Ive seen the MoP talent/spec system and ima be a Assasination rogue, so I geared up for this, I got two Boa Daggers. And also I made a bronze darts to slow enemies with the crippling poison, since rogues lose shadowstep we will need this, also Im farming at the moment the "alchemy recipe: swiftness potion", because rogues lose sprint so we will need to farm this, I already got mats to make 100 of these I just need the recipe. Also ima try and max out my pvp points to 5000 justice points and 5000 honor points, just incase there is any NEW boas when MoP comes out, Boas with high agility/stam/crit strike/hit rating, that might be considered the new BiS gear for rogues.

Also when MoP ACTUALLY comes out, the first thing I plan to do is wear the panda factions tabard, run some dungeons to get exalted with them, maintain my "ambassador" name title, then use their exalted rep to buy their "dragon turtle" mounts, then I will have the 25 mounts achievement :). After that I plan on doing EVERY single new quest that comes out with requirements of lvl 20 and under. Then ima track the new BiS items so im fully geared.

After that ima Basically just achieve hunt and farm pets/companions whilst I wait for dungeon ques.

And also whats with this battle pets thing? can f2ps do it?

(so to basically give insight to viewers you can answer my last question ^, OR you can tell me how YOU are preparing for MoP, or what to do when it comes out, or what new items/quests/achieves ect and cool new features have been confirmed, linking them would be appreciated too:)

you're assuming we'll be able to get to the vendor that sells the tabard. that's a big 'if'.

There'll be a couple new pieces of armor out of Ragefire Chasm (and several more for Alliance since they haven't historically had access to the RFC quests)...but not much there is anything close to BIS.

There's one new BoA staff...exactly like the Lava Dredger but with no fire resistance (and not sure if that's going to be converted to anything or not). The only thing the staff does is give Druids a few more Mog options.

I'm guessing there might be a few new quests (excluding the new RFC quests for Alliance), but nothing like you're hoping for.

the only ingredient you need to 'farm' for swiftness pots is swiftthistle...and if you're not burning through holy pots faster than you can farm swiftthistle, you're missing out. saving swiftthistle for a recipe you might not see in the next 12 months is a bit silly.

In summary, there's really nothing to do to prep as new content for f2p's is going to be very very very limited. I'd b pretty surprised if there's more than like 2 f2p's that are all "confused and misdirected".
 
It's unclear whether F2P will get the pet battles or not. It's also unclear how BoAs and PvP power will affect what is BiS in MP. Also, HP and JP cap is 4k, not 5k. As for items changing level requirements, while it has happened, and may again, we simply have to wait and see. Losing the ability to equip ranged and melee weapons at the same time will affect a lot of stats on items. It seems that hit rating will give more % per point, which may free up some new items to be BiS for people close to cap.

There's not really anything specific to prepare for MP for me, although once it's out, I'm sure I will check out anything new. One thing to consider, for those that want it, but do not yet have it, Ambassador. If it requires the new faction to be exalted, and F2P can't get their tabard, then that will become grandfathered too. Since the other factions are all near FPs and are next to each other, it seems likely that it will be put near the FP too, but again, wait and see. At the same time Blizz will want people in the new zones.

The theme of this post is wait and see, because there will be no way to test what F2P have access to until it goes live. Beta and PTR make no distinction between full and starter accounts.
 
I'm going to mow my neighbors lawn and get a paper route so I can experience playing pokemon while I am a panda.
 
I was thinking about walking my neighbour's dog and having it chase after paper boys while wearing a panda fursuit to experience playing pokemon while I am a panda.

At least the crazy lady in the panda suit wont let her dog bite me thinking its pet battles, yep she is on some good drugs.

Hopefully they will raise the level cap lol. 20 is getting boring.
 
I'll probably get my friends back in the game, rush to 85 and beat normal mode in a month. Then I'll go pvp until I'm bored and maybe go monk panda alting. If blizzard will find a way to keep the pvp interresting, have a new patch or keeps my friends interrested I'll be a happy paying panda, otherwise I'll be back in 2 months to become a WoWemon trainer and maybe get into the monk class if i haven't already in my paytime.

Can't argue with hats...........

But yeah the trial accounts are made to make you want to play the game, not to keep you playing for free forever. I even think that if blizzard could rewind time they would make it unable for lvl 20s to do bgs. Although they will never limit us f2ps more because pissing people off is not gaining them subscribers.
 
Hey Dom! I believe I fought you with my warrior (shrieklolz) and my priest (blondyhealz). Can anyone give me a link to the MOP class changes?
