What am I doing wrong?

I got lucky on my first to twinks and got both keefers the first time I went out. First one was after 1 1/2 hrs, sencond was after 20 min. My third hat is taking forever. I've probably been out 8 times with no luck. Try to be as efficient as possible. 100 tasty fish seems to be a good number to catch in 2 hours, sometimes I catch more sometimes less.
Try bringing a friend to clear mobs around the beach for you, most people won't wanna watch you fish for 2 hours and chatting with them can be distracting. If you have lots of gold find someone to bodygaurd you for 2 hours. I've found people before for 100g per sunday. Leveling players above 45 with no money seem to be willing. Fishing with someone that can walk on water would be helpful too.
Another extreme solution might be to transfer servers to a low population realm. GL

I fished for 17 weeks SOLO, on my 19 warr. Ended up running to my corpse more than i did fish.
ZG island was packed with 80s, 60s and 19s so only option was to venture out in STV.
Think about it this way, you WILL get the hat, just depends when.
I know people who have gotten the hat first try on ALL of their twinks. Moreover i know twinks who have fished for years and have had no rare fish.
Yesbox, from my guild was one of these people fishing for years; but this sunday he got his hat!

LFH is easy enough to get on Draenor. Its a PvE realm so horde types cant hurt you and the number of people fishing late on in the tournament actually helps you due to faster pool respawns. I can get between 60 and 140 tasties each fishing comp on Draenor.

In theory - The more pools you fish from, the better the chance you will have in getting the hat. This has been proven wrong however; because some twinks have taught it within their first 10 casts.
The only advice I can give - Keep trying, you will get it eventually.

Unless you are druid, then get 2. Casue druids can break CC at will.

I got mine on my rogue an hour and a half in I think it was the third time, on my priest I woke up late only 45 min left to fish and I got killed twice so only got 2 casts in and got it, lucky as shit, I've also seen ss of ppl that have gotten 5 or more hats in one day, its just luck not really how many pools you get
