Kinda hard to know which people were there to farm other stuff and who were there to farm these gf'd items, considering it's a dungeon a lot of people farm regularly

Blizzard does not have a habit of banning anyone.
I always wonder where statements like this come from. Probably by someone who once got banned for constantly insulting people and now they think Blizzard bans for everything.

Actually, yes they do.
Most things that involve clever use of mechanics that they did not intend is considered exploitative behavior by them. Spell Stealing Bone Shield from the Death Knights in Naxx 10/25 and having it combined with Incanter's Absorption given mages the ability to solo Military Wing during early WoTLK? Banned. Using bombs to defeat LK? Banned. However, generally this requires you to make videos that get quite a bit of attention for them to notice and ban you.
As far as a chance of "Dropping T3", that's not going to happen given that T3 was not "dropped" as gear. You made it. Plus, besides the ring, T3 is in game and easy to get on the BMAH if you happen to have the gold and patience.

They banned someone for life for using a GM Item that was mailed to them.
As far as they are concerned, this is something you should report and not engage. If there is anything on the loot tables of those mobs that has been removed from game, they will likely remove it from your inventory and ban you for not reporting it if they find out. It has happened in the past, and is just something they've always done.
It also states right in the TOU/TOS they have the right to ban any account at any time, as they see fit. Without reason or disclosure.
