29 warrior gear seems straightforward.
You have Combatant Claymore with Quickblade vers/crit gear (where Heirlooms are not better) (or vers/haste if you want but I would never do that because I want to see crits) and you enchant stats and strength on your gear. It is not like you are going to enchant versatility to your chest and bracers instead of stats. Maybe you use an Electrocution's Lagnut.
The choice as I see it is if you want to situationally equip some more stamina gear like pieces for legs, gloves, shoulders and cloak. For some they may often want to.
This is the part that throws me off. Those two parts are not exclusive. Saying don't go versatility go strength and crit... the secondary stats have both vers and crit so you get vers and crit from the gear and strength from the enchants. 1:1 strength is def better than vers so you would never enchant vers.
The problem with the versatility gear (the actual good stuff, not "of the quickblade" trash) is that its all pure versatility and stamina... all, the good arms master pendant, the hound master chest piece, etc. If you want 30+ you will have 1% haste and like 3% crit. You just cant do anything about it.
10% versatility is just a dumb option. If you happen to have it great, but unless you are going all out, there is no point, because strength and crit and haste will always = more burst dps. "Fireflash" is the best option if you are not just going pure versatility.
You will not notice 10% versatility in any BG that you play in, you wont miss it if you remove it, any arcane mage will still blow your balls off... 33% is a different story tho, because you just don't die. So IMO you could have just stacked more crit and strength instead of Versatility.
The current 29s are best hit head on with non Hybrid Builds. You are either set up to smash face (280+ intelligence caster builds, pure agility rogue builds, or just face buster Fury Warrior builds - and as I have said about 100 times now the only reason pure versatility is even good on fury is that you have CRUSADER procs... that's it).
I honestly think using the Combatants Claymore when you are not trying for 30% versatility is just flat out stupid. You are just giving up a superior weapon with better possible dps (heirloom with its super high crit, etc.) for a weapon that is only good if you go all out on the stat it provides.
Hybrid builds are just average and most of them are just trash and actually come from people just being lazy and not really farming the right gear/knowing what they are really saying.
"Hey I have on engineering goggles and some crap that came out of a BG crate! I'm BIS"... no you are not.
