warlock try outs!!!

Our team is in desperate need of a skilled lock, we will be hosting "try outs" for our up coming practice this Saturday at 7:30 pm server time.. any warlock on ally side is welcome to come and give it a shot! remember must have Skype! thanks for your time and patience TI happy hunting!!!
 
GL on finding a skilled f2p warlock your best chance is to get a skilled player to roll a warlock. I can't think of hardly any good "active" warlocks on the whole 20-24 bracket.

"Active"is the key word

all great ideas guys and swag I must disagree there are some players who would commit the time to wake up and premade ive done it before. however im not looking for that, I just wanna get a skilled lock to play ally side ap or find one cross realms and then have em re roll. either way u look at it a warlock is gunna play with us on AP.
 
Why do you want a warlock?

blood pact?
curse of enfeeblement?
the slow from conflagrate?
fear? sheep or priest fear is better.
harvest life to pull stealthers into visibility? if they choose that talent.

I just did arathi basin with my BiS (other than MTB/AGM) lock to get a rough comparison of dmg done between locks and mages . . . maybe locks do a little more dmg than frost mages. The latter are still more useful though, I think.

I've been slowly gearing a troll lock, but since mop or whatever patch locks are corny: the demon form, the soul shards floating around my head. And the taking away of the dots/soul fire was just great tooooooooo.



It's a real question though, if I'm missing something, I'd like to know.

Me personally Premade wise I'd rather have a frost Mage on d with efc for slows and Cc. Warlock as a 24 I can pop a shadow protection potion n I can buy time to kill. F2p can't use but a 20 p2p & 24 can.

f2ps can most certanly use shadow protection potions. But you must farm them out of chests and they are a random drop because you can get a healing/mana/holy protection/swiftness/rage/swimspeed/minor rejuvanation. So the chances are very slim. I had a stack of 4 when MoP hit and I think i used them all in 2 games against shadow priests.

The shadow protection potions remind me of Fire Protection Potion - Game Guide - World of Warcraft of cata against survival hunters

and that will do what vs a destruction (most are) lock?
 
So I did another bg with Wih . . . I think even frost mages (lowest dmg of the 3 mages specs) can do more dmg than (at least afl) locks.

All my mages are alliance and all locks are horde. Ally usually sucks for heals, but if mage lucks into a bg with heals I do more damage.

Of course, balance druids do more dmg than either. and: stealth, speed, heals armor, eyepatch, party spell haste, dmg mitigation . . .
but I don't enjoy playing druid nearly as much as mage or lock.
this game sucks.


and i dunno, i was demo for most of cata. kept getting told I'd do more dmg as afflic. so I switched right before mop; didn't really like it, but too lazy to respec again. Anyway, if spell-locked, at least mages can cast a different school of spell. affliction is effed in that situation.
 
If your warlock can't do more damage than a mage as destruction, you're doing it wrong.
 
That's the point were noting talking about damage. I assume he's not looking for damage from a Mage or warlock. I'm guess its for comp or some type of premade strat. I've yet to see a great warlock I've seen maybe 4 good mages in bracket tops.

its because 20 mage and warlock sucks and must be carried. 24s at least get 15+30+16 =61 spellpower and other enchants while 20 is stuck with 3 intellect anc cannot produce any damage. Why should I play a clothie when there is this infinite mana shining plate wearing class called paladin or a powershifiting no CD escape artist druid with immunities to polymorph and such.

this is what happens on a f2p mage meets a f2p protection paladin .I didnt even have the time blink away because I was still silenced and got globaled in less than 3 seconds.

Or another story. I was kiting a rogue, who had 2 healers I got rogue to a half, Polymorph one healer, Silence the other. I think im so pro..iIgot this.then all of a sudden a 24 rogue..unseen BAM! 1.1k ambush+insta evis 1 shotted. Why would you play a mage?
 
Sigh..I'll try and educate some F2P's about PvP. It isnt all about mongoloid smash face damage in order to win. Have you ever seen a good mage and lock synergize together? The control they will put out is beyond silly. He obviously wants a warlock for the control the class will give through fear, not for its damage.

attitude? i love it..

but if he wants a lock for CC only, then he'd be better with a bm hunter, fear DR's with priest fear. 2mages would dr each other (thinking he has one). i'm not seeing a reason to put a lock on D for fear only.

wonna educate me some here?
