I've played Warhammer some, and I leveled most characters from 1-10 through scenario because I found it most fun and enjoyable. The gameplay is kind of awkward as the graphic engine is something we WoW players are not used to. The way the game handles latency is horrible and it was most apparent reason why I lost interest.
I wouldn't be put off so much that I wouldn't try the free trial, though. The download is quick, the patching is slow, but if you're interested in trying the game I would go for it.
On other hand, the Warhammer 40k mmo looks great.
