wands for casters?

nah, since the template is gone it doesnt count as two slots anymore.

Yes, but they don't have a stat boost anymore. That was only from a template bug that never got fixed because there weren't any artifact wands.

Not worth sacrificing stats for most of the time, but a ranged autoattack is better than a melee one. It can be useful once in awhile.
