Vircy, 39 Twink PvP

I enjoyed the video, but I felt kinda weird when watching it. Most of the time I was rooting for your opponent rather than you. Not because of you, but because of your class I guess. Some of your opponents played really well and still lost. The clip where the gnome mage faked a jumpdown on Blade's Edge and blinked back on to evocate was awesome. The shaman in part 2 played really good as well.

The rogues were using the wrong strategy to beat you though, for some reason they seem to think they can toe to toe a paladin, especially that female undead rogue. The male rogue should have waited for his bandage cd before going in again.

The SL lock should have tried to resummon his pet when you were feared for 10 seconds, or instead he could have bandaged it when it was still alive and you were feared.



Your mage and lock clips seemed a bit random and didn't really belong in there, I'd definately watch a video from your mage's PoV though, perhaps SL lock as well if played right. The stuttering took away a bit from the enjoyment, but all in all I liked the video. I think your biggest problem here is your timing. Ret paladins are more OP than they ever were at the moment, and the average twink won't show a lot of sympathy for a Retribution Paladin right now.



If you fix the fraps stuttering and play your SL Lock/Mage I'm sure you'll get a lot of fans. A filefront/rapidshare HQ release would be good as well next time, I really dislike youtube's quality, even in HD.

I felt the same lol i was wondering whether any of the mages were going to pull off a successful win, sadly not. That blink trick was fantastic and for a moment I was confused as to what happened - shame he still lost



The resto shaman fight I found quite boring in all honesty. I understand slow and steady is how you do it but meh. Had the shaman realised she wasn't going to stop the bandage in time and bandaged herself (i think she could at the time) would have been a longer fight.



The warlock played well up till the point he didn't heal his felhunter as Ishh said. Was he healing his felhunter when he was just standing about while the pala was in the bubble or did I miss something? Either way I would have made a couple of changes there.



Not a bad video but you were outplayed by some and yet still won - I fear only because of the sheer unkillability of the paladin at times.

I'm in complete agreement with Ishh and Xailter for which I'm quite glad as they've saved me some e-ink.



The unfortunate thing about playing ret atm is that the spec is so op that a ret will win the majority of fights even when the skill gap between opponents is vast, as was the case with that mage. This inherently devalues a video made from a rets perspective.



However, I wouldn't mind watching another ret vid that included interesting opponents or some challenging matches. I really think that a video that included several losses on the ret's part would be far more enjoyable to watch and would perhaps ironically showcase the ret's skill. Clearly in order to win an opponent would have to either exceptionally lucky, or very skilled, or both. Those types of opponents would be worth watching.



Just a few minor points:



Why did you choose to focus on killing the warlocks pet? I would have thought fearing the pet would buy you enough time to burn down the lock directly.



Why do you spam the paly ranged taunt on the shaman? Were you trying to proc vengeance? Since I noticed she was able to root you with f.shock the clip must have been made after vengeance procs were disallowed from your taunt. Was there another reason for this?

I'm quite sure that the entire video was pre-3.1. I may be wrong but I believe that he didn't want to mix up footage from 3.0.whatever with 3.1 footage that he is currently gathering.

Yeah this is pre-3.1 (as he says in his post ) so I'm assuming it was to keep Vindiction on the target. The lack of "800 bam!" numbers should tell you this is without Exorcism.



Run through the fights again and see how an additional ranged 550 - 800 damage would do in those fights. 'Mage Rape' is the phrase I'd use.

It was an SL lock wasnt it? Killing that pet has long been a way to get around an SL locks defenses to easily kill him. I havnt watched the video yet, but ill edit if im mistaken ;p

i was rude and blunt, i admit. but you're the one who raged and attacked me out of the blue for it. instantly using insulting words like "moronic" and "failed" while attacking one of my twinks to "put me in my place". all over something pretty minor. a one liner that said "so bad" about a video that was .. well, pretty bad. you crossed the line, not me. and now you're just back-peddling because you have nothing better to say.

I'll only comment on the fights, Rets are a simple class to play and the outs they produce don't do justice to whats required ;<, the down-part of that is that there isnt much complexity in the class to really 'wow' your viewers, everything that can be done is fairly boring and you can't advance from that.



The mages all in all were fairly decent, I felt they were a bit too aggressive on their mana pools at times, CoC's and chasing you down to interupt bandages shouldve really been avoided as they raped their mana and unnecessary hp doing that. Mana shields were debatable whether or not they should've been used, but they really did dig their grave using them when they did. Still them being fire made it a tad more interesting, Frost is a bitch and to win you'd have to result in turtling pillars for BoF's etc, still I personally like those fights.



The SL lock looked to have been searching for his life funnel in spell book when you charged your game breaking death ray and such ;< he didn't seem to watch over his pet at all, and why he just didn't back off when you bubbled i don't know



The shammy fight was cool, considering healer vs. dps is very limited at this bracket it was a solid fight.



Guess i'll have to quote Ishh regarding the rogue fights.



Decent vid nontheless, not much you really need to change to produce higher quality vids, so tbh I'd start looking at some arena games to record. Btw fake casting CS's is made way easier when the mage is multi-tasking, give it some shots.

And yeah, props to that resto shammy for putting out such a good fight...ghost wolf slightly sooner when vircy was low and it might have turned out different...also that miss on the shock would have ended it too. I <3 vircy but I play a resto shammy too and that was pretty sexy for resto.

Sorry, i have to agree with Adt. He gave you some criticism, perhaps in too strong of a language, and you could not deal with it. What Ishh said is key - i was rooting for the opponent not you. As stated in earlier post, "that mage completely outplayed you, yet you still facerolled with 2* 500 crits at the end". People NEED to put the class title in the thread header. Nothing is wrong with your skill, or editing, the music choice was mediocre - a bit one dimensional. You should have took Adt's advice rather than give bullshit excuses on lag and fraps. If you have lag... fuck knows what i have with 200ms ping, and a first generation AMD64 setup...

I do agree that the songs were really bad, lol...but those are always a personal preference thing and you cant really judge somebody on it.



Also to be fair to vircy this wasnt only a pally vid, although his pally is featured heavily.

This was made post glyph w/ felhunter devours healing the warlock. I was fairly sure he would have had that so I decided to kill the felhunter asap.



Yes, I didn't want to mix post 3.1 footage w/ pre 3.1 so I was limited.



Btw, my computer is very good. Quad Core, 4870x2, 4 GIG dual channel DDR2 (Good enough). I probably shouldn't have been running on max settings for recording which I will change for next time.

I haven't watched the video but if your running at max settings when recording and your getting choppy footage and low frame rates.. but you still keep it on max settings??!
