This. It's not really worth it for the tiny tiny % stat bump and it looks hella stupid wearing statless white gear or a mishmash of gear that doesn't fit your class.
nice guide. Is world pvp gearing similar to this?
I see thanks. Could you tell me how to gear for world pvp?No, this is for instanced PvP only.

The higher ilvl statless gear is only better inside of instanced bg's and arena. For open world the lower level gear with stats is superior. The reason being inside instanced PvP, no stats from gear is counted. All that matters is ilvl, hence why this guide suggests the higher ilvl gear with no stats. Thanks for the guide. but is there anywhere where it explains why the statless ilvl gear is better than the gear with stats as in the rings and neckless
ahhhh i see now thanksThe higher ilvl statless gear is only better inside of instanced bg's and arena. For open world the lower level gear with stats is superior. I personally keep one set for open world and switch into the 'bling' set for instanced PvP.
Hope this helps.
Yes you can. You don't need any enchants; they don't work in BGs or any instanced PvP. Also, since the introduction of stat templates for PvP, the stats on your gear don't matter as soon as you enter. You are given stats based on the ilvl of the gear you have equipped (having all slots filled with your correct armor type also gives a bonus, as far as I know).I heard you can get Marks of Honor through low level pvping, Can someone confirm? I really just can't stand max level pvp and haven't since Wrath but I really want to buy some old PvP gear for transmog. On to my question, What enchants are best or do enchants not matter for Instanced PvP as they are also stats and stats do not matter in Instanced PvP only Ilvl does.
***Scratch the enchants part, Read the intro and saw the answer myself*** My Marks of Honor question still stands, Sorry in advance for not reading everything.

So, basically, your gearing priority for low-level is:
1) Fill every slot with anything you can find that is the correct type, even if it's gray. White vendor items and BoEs off the AH are great.
2) If you can equip a wand, it's currently giving "bonus stats", so use a wand and off-hand over any staff.
3) Get your ilvl up to about five levels above your character levels.
4) Try to get it higher if you have the money or time, but there is a diminishing returns after awhile, as it takes quite a bit of ilvl increase to raise your stats just one point.
Don't worry about all the invasion gear in this guide. Blizz slipped it in, in-between expansions, when no one was playing, and you pretty much had to no life it to get a full set (if you were lucky, at that). Basically, invasion gear was a bullshit flash-in-the-pan, and most people don't have it, and you don't need it to be competitive. I would recommend to the author of this guide would mark them as grandfathered with an asterisk or something, and list more obtainable gear. Ignore the AGM and fishing trinket, no one has time for that crap anymore with cross-realm ruining it for everyone. Your mostly-BiS trinkets come from gnomish engineering. Shoot, depending on class, half your gear comes from engineering, something you might not notice this invasion-centric guide.
But I digress. Personally, I'd recommend locking at 20 and twinking there (unless you have a toon to level). If you stay at 20, you can play for free in the active 20-29 bracket (you just can't use the mail while you're unsubbed, so your Marks of Honor would stay on that toon until your resub). Inquire in the 20s forum for more info, or make a toon on an active 20s server such as Bleeding Hollow - Alliance, or play with the much better looking twinks on Aerie Peak - Horde.
P.S. Don't make a hunter.
I have taken some time off playing and will begin updating the guide again for currently available gear.Don't worry about all the invasion gear in this guide. I hear you. Basically, we're still using this guide because it's really great resource for gearing up for Legion. Thing is, we're now actually in Legion, and anyone that just is getting into it, might find all the invasion gear on the list confusing/discouraging.I have taken some time off playing and will begin updating the guide again for currently available gear.
Hunters are in lord-sovereign-of-gods/banned tier. Basically, they are so overpowered, they aren't even fun to play. They have a literal one-shot button, and are just gross. Horde friends will shun you if they find out you're playing one, regularly. However, Alliance players are easily entertained, so if you get into an AB, there might be 10 of them throwing a total of 30 axes at your head. Thanks for the reply, Yeah I made a Priest. I am curious as to why you say don't make a Hunter. I was actually thinking about making one like 2 minutes before I read your post.
