:US: Randoms and vent what to do?

Ok I have been beating my head against this problem whenever I have time to think about it and I cannot come up with anything to get the randoms in vent. I know it's just as painful alliance side as it is horde side because I have seen it while playing on both sides.

This bracket is no longer at all new player friendly, pugs that join games are going to get carried or rolled over depending on who they got in with.

We advertise the vent info night after night and rarely pick up anyone new to join vent. At the same time we now have people vote kicking the new folks, or que dodging and comp building and group queuing to avoid them. They aren't trying to dodge a good team to fight against they are trying to make sure they don't get more randoms than the other side at this point.

New players are not going to stay in this bracket for the roller coaster of wining by a huge margin or losing and getting farmed in mid in a game where they seem to spawn buff run forward and die (not dising that as a strat).

So does anyone have a idea other than what we are already doing to get more of these randoms in vent before they give up on the bracket and go back to whatever they did before?

no clue, but the next person that lectures me about a mic im going to strangle, i have a mic but at 9 est i have 3 year old boys sleeping in the next room >.<

well honestly not sure if some of these randoms could take vent with nastay being well nastay. need to cool off bro, like the instance where we are up 2-0 with like 3 minutes left and you're yelling at me because you didnt think i went up the ramp quick enough, when i rezzed i beelined for the EFC and then you started yelling not like it even mattered at that we point we'd won. everyone ****s up even you.

Don't take it personally. I was drinking as well, probably caused some extra angst. Just step up yo game homie. No hard feelings.

There are plenty of people in this world who don't act like you even when they're drunk.

As for the OP, I don't see a solution other than leading by example and making the noobs feel welcome enough to want to get in vent. That scenario might require Dont not queuing up anymore, though.

new players are new players. unless you do what PTL did in 39s and literally kick/grief every single new player, you will not get 10v10 quality games in a pug.

there isn't anything wrong with calling out a bad or mediocre play. it simply needs to be said. in fact, i will always let my team know if i make some kind of mistake (ie, trinket a stun when a healer clearly had me).

however, continuing to scrutinize and grief a person later in the game just because he has "messed up" in the past is not okay. neither is randomly calling him bad ~3 games later and clinging to that same one mistake.
