[US] Andrew Yang - Your Thoughts on his candidacy?

I get where you're coming from. But at the same time we've had our share of experience with Career Politicians who have met many of those major requirements and haven't really done much other than complicating laws and gerrymandering. People are wanting those who won't be in politics until they're a dusty old hag just to rake in money from doners and paid speeches for banks. John F Kennedy currently is the youngest President to have held office and there's almost a universal agreement among citizens that he was one of the greatest presidents to lead the nation, despite the controversies and drama surrounding his family

Those aren't really things decided by the president, alot of that is state legislature if I understand your system correctly. So a novice president would have little effect on such things. JFK also had a resume which included ww2 and multiple terms in both the lower and upper house of congress. Also JFK is not the youngest person to have held the office of president.

@Goesid my bad I was thinking he was. But I'd like to point out that most income of previous presidents comes not from their salary, but from speeches and doners as I stated. Even books and other things following their presidency.

He is the youngest person to be elected. But that isn't the only way. Sure, dont think anyone is gonna fight you on that, you don't like that or what?

I'm simply stating that it's more than obvious many current politicians and presidents care only for power and money.
Just look how many of them contradict themselves and even lie on a regular basis just to pander to a certain audience to keep them in office. It's painfully obvious. I hope you see that as well. I don't think their interests are in for the American people.

Thats how a democracy works. It seeks out people that are interested in power. A few exceptions might appear but they are not the norm. People that want power will lie to keep or get power, nothing noteowrthy about it. Kennedy probably started the book trend. As long as they are rewarded for it they will keep doing it.

Bring. Back. Philosopher. Kings.

Dictatorships are far superior in dealing with alot of things but are even worse at getting the right people in power. Its a fun idea for sure though. Another fun idea is lottery power.
Well I guess we can all say it started with the shift from direct democracy to representative. But there's far too many screaming people so I'll settle for the latter. Problem is, it's tied with crony capitalism, and there's an overall cynicism that aligns with the idea that "that's just the way democracy is". I mean, yeah sure if you keep it that way.

Direct democracy is an even worse system. Democracy is a little like folk music, and the worst part about folk music is it was written by the people.

Warren, easily, has presented the most comprehensive and concise set of policy proposals thus far. They make sense within her framework, they create a total package that can be treated as a complete political thought.

Same for Bernie (though his isn't as detailed) and even goofball bootyjudge has put out some comprehensive proposals

Yang has proposed alot of stuff. But it's pretty piecemeal. He treats his ubi as a panacea to fix all ills and doesn't have a complete outlook that makes sense as a whole. He seems to be arguing for a type of centrally planned capitalism? Wtf.

Capitalism https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernie_Ecclestone this Bernie for sure

America is the best country, Capitalism works. It's American Capitalism or Chinese Communism.
by what metric is the US the best country? prison population? imperialistic achievements? number of immigrant children taken away from their families and held in concentration camps? also china is state capitalist. dumbass conservatives eat up propaganda like no one else lol. the poor stay poor while the rich get richer. socialism for the rich, capitalism for the poor.

I grew up in a trailer park. left my parents home at 17. Am now 42 successful with no college degree, have a family, have owned millions in real estate, have a nice portfolio and will retire at 50. I would say that capitalism works as long as you are not a complete fucking retard.

is your anecdote supposed to mean anything? its cool that you made it out of poverty but millions and millions stay in poverty. not because they just cant pull themselves up by their bootstraps, but because the system they live under is designed for them to stay poor.
